MCP Actions Quick Purchase

Here are some of the photos I took yesterday before we went to the dance studio to have photos taken by the studio’s photographer.

Read more on my blog about that experience.  My photos were all taken with my hi-lite backdrop, 4 alien bees.  Main with softlighter.  Fill with umbrella.  Backlights shooting into the hi-lite backdrop by lastolite.  My room is 11×13 – about as tiny as you can go.  I am very out of space and my photos look slightly distorted as a result.  But I need to make do with what I have.  Settings – 1/125, ISO100, f9

I would love opinions on these – so please comment 🙂  Bad and good comments welcome.

These are adorable Jodi! No CC from me 🙂 I especially love the one of them looking at the HM CD. I like the way you include your lighting info too, very helpful.

Hi Jodi,Your daughters are adorable!! I enjoyed the high key images you took, so much so I would love it if you would post a photo of your home studio (or e-mail me privately) as I’m in the process of setting up my home studio after years of working on-location. I’m an avid follower of your blog and have purchased actions from you too. Thanks for sharing these great images of your adorable twins!

Well the good news is that I am happy to share :)The bad news is the studio is so small that I cannot really get pictures of the set up that would mean anything. So what I will do is show you a diagram. I will do this in a future post. Sound good? Thanks for reading and commenting.Jodi

Jodi,Found your site and I’m glad I did. I just ordered your eye & teeth actions. I can’t wait to receive them. I can’t wait to receive the e-mail with them!I was looking through your blog and I wanted to thank you for mentioning your gear in this post. I am ordering my Alien Bees 3 light set up within the week.I’d love to pick your brain to see if you think some of the accesories are necessary. I’ve been researching & researching and I’m so new to this I’m not sure!I may e-mail you with some questions if you have time to send a quick reply if I do I’d appreciate it!I like your work so I’ll be posting a link to your blog on mine! 🙂

I like the 2nd to the last one the best. Great job! I would love to have a studio some day…even if it is small! Think of yourself as lucky!

I have always liked this look and you did a good job in the space. I was particularly happy to learn about your space and lighting set up because it is so similar to what I have available and was worrying that I wouldn’t be able to get anything worthwhile until I saw your photos! I particularly like the one of your beautiful, big-eyed daughter with her hands on her hips. Those eyes! Thanks again for sharing all the information. I’m learning so much from you and appreciate every morsel.
