I am just starting my business so the first thing that comes to mind would be marketing. I would specialize them and have them playing in kids stores and salons here in town.

I’d love to be able to offer professional slide shows to parents of seniors. I love to capture seniors and I also like to offer something different than the next person.

Animoto slideshows would definitely be an integral part in my marketing plan. These slideshows are of professional quality and I think would be a great addition to any photographers repertoire, especially for bridal fairs, client meetings, and for display at a wedding reception. These slideshows would blow the socks right off of my clients and my perspective ones! These would also be great to just have playing in the background at rehearsal dinner for the family and friends to interact with the photos you have already done for the couple, and to get them talking about you before you even get a chance to photograph the actual ceremony.

  11. August 25, 2010 at 9:35 am — Reply

I have started taking some flip clips of my senior seniors and would like to post a quick snip on facebook to stir some anticipation. Then would use the clips in the slideshow to present the images to the family…and of course how awesome for the open house so they just have to buy the dvd!

  12. August 25, 2010 at 9:37 am — Reply

I love Animoto — have offered the videos as a DVD product and use it for marketing/sales during client meetings as well.

But the simplest reason of all is that when I play their video during my client meeting/preview session (and they have not seen their Gallery of images yet), it always makes my moms CRY!! I know it might sound “mean” when I say that, but as I watch them watching the video and see that response, I just know I have done my job — captured their child(ren) or family and connected them emotionally to the images! 🙂

I signed up for the basic just the other day to see what it’s like. It’s awesome! I would love the pro account. For a personal use, I would do a recap of events at the end of the year, could even be used as a Christmas gift. (yikes…not Christmas already)

  14. August 25, 2010 at 9:44 am — Reply

I use slideshows as a way to boost emotion before the sales meeting. Animoto would definitely make the slideshow creation process so much easier, then I could do an addon of the DVD sale or give as a part of a collection.

  15. August 25, 2010 at 9:49 am — Reply

I would use a DVD slideshow as a way to encourage couples to book me for a wedding. For example if they booked me for “X” amount of hours they’d get a complimentary DVD slideshow of my favorite 100 images. I’d also consider using one of my website as an intro.

  16. August 25, 2010 at 9:50 am — Reply

I could use the slide show to highlight certain photos, make large family gartherings more enjoyable to be at as those there would have something of interest to watch. It would also come in handy for proofing photos in a way that is not seen in my area.

I use animoto for 30 sec. “Teasers” of my clients sessions. I choose 10 to 18 images to put in the slideshow and then post to facebook and my blogsite to give my clients a sneak peek of their session. I also create presentation slideshows for my clients to view their session at in person proofing sessions. These slideshows are placed on my blog after they place a print order and it is also included with their disc of images. I created a youtube page and link all my animoto shows to it.

I already do slideshows as an “extra” that my clients can buy…mainly, because I just like to do them. However, the program I use is very basic and not as professional looking as I’d like them to be. Getting this subscription would def. take them to where I want to be! I would post them as sneak peeks on my blog as well as on my facebook page. Thanks for the giveaway.

I have a photo restoration side business (www.recapturedmoments.com), and I have used slide shows to make three memorial dvds complete with music so far. One for my sister, one for my brother-in-law and one for a friend who lost her father. Animating pictures to music has a profound effect when used for memorial dvds. Tears and laughter help the grieving process and make it seem like some part of their loved one will live on.

In addition to client slideshows (web-based and DVD), I think it would be awesome to create a series of short videos to promote and/or give some client education on different print and press items. Links to these videos would be sent to customers who opt out of an in person proofing and ordering session.

I’m actually a basic user of Animoto. This year, I’ve been focusing on charitable events, which usually entails quite a few photos. I’ve found it takes a lot longer for people to view the built-in slideshows on my website, so I started making Animoto videos to help them out, and the feedback has been very positive!

We currently do slideshows in Pro Show Producer and it’s quite time consuming. We’ve had our eyes on Animoto for a while now and think that their presentation is modern and eye catching. This particular slideshow is pretty bland compared to the rockin slideshows we’ve seen on Animoto’s site.

  50. August 25, 2010 at 10:53 am — Reply

I think this would make a super presentation tool to showcase proofs. I get emotional looking at these even when I don’t know the people in the video! Lol! Have lots of ways I would like to use it from personal (old family stuff) to presentation, to gifting. I think it would make an awesome add-on to a photographer’s package. I shared this on my FB wall as well….thanks for the contest!

I have used slide shows to showcase Red Cross volunteers and shelters. Also,to celebrate the 90th anniversary of my church. I love animoto for the emotion it can bring out when you view pictures. It becomes an EXPERIENCE. An experience that I would certainly want clients to have. I am sure I use them in client preview sessions and give the option to purchase the full DVD. But the number one way I bet they would be appreciated in this house would be for personal pictures. My kids LOVE watching home movies and this could add a whole new element, seeing as I have more still photos than video. I can already imagine how much fun it would be to make something like that for them!!

I am the parent of a son with autism. He is 15 years old. He doesn’t travel so well anymore, so his world has become pretty small. Sharing photos is just about the only way that our family get to see him and get to know him at this point I would love to produce video slideshows to share with my family. Also, to share with the online autism community that I own and edit: http://www.foggyrock.com . Our children can teach us so much….

Animoto is great! I love how video and stills can work together to tell the complete story. One of my portrait sessions ended up as a proposal/engagement session. The groom to be and I had it all planned out. He dropped to one knee as she was facing forward with him in the background as I told her to slowly look back at him over her shoulder. He opened the ring box and proposed while my assistant caught it all on video. They were blown away by their slideshow. Totally AWESOME!

We use Animoto and LOVE it. We usually offer the video as part of our package as an extra perk. Our clients go nuts for them. The videos are also used on Facebook and are posted on the blog for all to view. They are extremely popular…some videos get hundreds of hits. The videos are fun and very professional. Hope to win a new subscription…our is about to run out!

I use them on my website and Facebook Fan Page to highlight my photography volunteer events. I also use them to give DVD copies to my NowILayMeDowntoSleep parents who have really appreciated this. I use them for weddings, childrens photography especially. I have also just started promoting Labor/Delivery sessions and using them to capture this event! I use them on my Facebook Fan page to market, share teasers, introduce a new photography event as well as posting them on my website.

I love animoto and have done a few movies for photo sessions, but my favorite piece is for our high school band that featured video and photos. We used it as a marketing piece to show upcoming students (middle school) what being a part of the band is like. Animoto is a must when it comes to adding a visual piece to our business.

As an aspiring pro photographer, I’m just starting out by photographing family and friend’s events – what a great “extra” to be able to give them. I’d also use the videos in my “day job” to highlight what children with disabilities are able to accomplish.

I just started marketing myself in the local birth photography area. We don’t have many (if any) birth photographers in my area. I’d use it for showing births after they’re edited.

I’m a student and i would like to use this chance to have an animoto pro account to make videos that would entice my fellow students to actively participate in metallurgical engineering activities and also make incoming student be aware of our underrated course which is BS metallurgical engineering. I believe a video would be the best way to catch their attention, specially if it is high quality and thoroughly made.

I love the the new additions they have added. I use slideshows as the clients first time seeing their images. They build emotion, make them feel connected to the images and tell a story all at the same time. I would love to use these on the blog, as a preview and to make each session a little unique. Also including them in the top selling packages for incentives. Many people want these as keepsakes and gifts.

This is fantastic timing!!! I just put together my first slideshow with the software my computer has — and I have to admit, it was easy but the music part not so much! Animoto has royalty-free music and that is the best! In my business I have decided to give only a DVD of images for free, not the actual files so I am in need of a good slideshow program — and who doesn’t love animoto??!! Thanks!!!

I would use animoto on a personal basis. We have seven children and I try to keep up on all the events and daily happenings I think animoto would make it easy to make them all slide shows. This way they could access all the photos instead of digging for them in different albums.

I have always had a special interest for photography and am now going to the next level by starting my business. I can think of many uses that I could benefit from Animoto, 1. marketing slideshows to boost sales 2. Facebook 3. boost DVD sales 4. I would also use this on personal issues such as slideshows for our home and church activities (I am our church photographer). 5. School slideshows (our school is very small). Thank You so much for the chance to win something as nice as Animoto, would love the opportunity to use such a nice product.

So glad I came across this contest! I’m just now diving into wedding photography and would love to showcase wedding slideshows at both the reception and as a marketing piece for future brides. Though not my original idea, I would love to use slideshows as a way to prepare grooms for engagement sessions and even weddings. I am just starting out in my business and I can think of 101 ways I could use Animoto. Using it definitely for marketing reasons, but also to a) show clients their images but then b) sell them their own copy. With seniors it would be awesome to make a video about them, add images from their session and create a momento of their life. It would also be cool to be able to have a slideshow up in a bussiness, pediatrician or OB/GYNs office. I would love to be able to offer these kinds of professional slideshows to my clients!
