Every athlete went to the London 2012 Summer Olympics dreaming of one thing. The United States brought home 46, China, 38, France, 11 and Uganda, only 1.

Yep, you guessed it, the coveted gold medal. Gold symbolizes wealth and prosperity, and it the case of the Olympics, it symbolizes athletic excellence. The August, challenge #4 was to capture a photo of something gold. This week’s Flickr gallery was full of shiny, glittery golden hues. Here are the Project MCP team’s favorites:

Thank you to everyone for adding your golden photos to the Flickr gallery! As usual, we really enjoyed viewing them all.

A new month is upon us, which means time for a new set of challenges. September symbolizes many things; the end of summer, cooler weather, back to school and the beginning of fall. Here are the September challenges:
Challenge #1 - Lots of pencils, more and more books – Take a photo illustrating “back to school” or  the word “return”.
Challenge #2 – Everyone knows a good teacher makes all the difference – Take a photo illustrating the word “teach or teacher”.
Challenge #3 – The weather is getting cooler and it is getting dark earlier – Take a photo with the theme “signs of fall”..(If it is not Fall in your part of the world, go ahead and take a photo with your current season’s theme.)
Challenge #4 – red, green, gold and brown are the signature colors of Fall – Take a photo with a Fall color scheme.
We cannot wait to see your interpretation of these challenges. Grab a banner and make sure to spread the work about Project MCP, the more the merrier!

Very cool shots, Lisa! I really like the crayons. I hope you post them in the flicker group also. :)

Thank you, Jodi and your team, for your challenges each week. They have greatly improved my photography and editing skills and given me a handful of friends in which to share my hobby.

    Thank you so much!

Just a question…as September has 5 weekends, does the first challenge start now (before 9/1) and the feature will be on 9/1, or does the first week of the challenge actually start on 9/1 and then the feature is the following week (does this make any sense? ha ha!)
