I feel like a terrible photographer for not knowing this feature, I’ve never seen this referenced in any of the articles I’ve read so thank you so much for sharing! And also for explaining the feature so well, I looked up the option in my manual and it’s very easy to setup – I can’t wait to try it out this week! 🙂

I switched my back button to “AF Off” which has really come in handy. Have you played with this variation?

Evan, I activated that option at one point, but for me it’s not practical as I prefer to focus with the back button. With AF-off, if you focus with the shutter button, and are using servo, you can use AF-OFF to stop subject tracking momentarily if need be. For me, I use the back button to focus and I can stop tracking anytime I want by removing my thumb from the back button.

I finally caved in and set my camera to the BBF.I’m really loving it.I can’t believe I’ve not done it before now. For me, it feels natural and very comfortable.
