Tamron USA, a MCP Blog Sponsor, recently introduced a new wide-angle lens. It looks amazing for nature photography, architectural photography, and real-estate photography. It could be a fun lens for weddings too.

This summer we will be giving one of these lenses away to one of our readers. Would you like to win one? What types of images would you use it for?

Ken Hubbard, a professional nature photographer, has used this lens quite a bit and had this to say about the Tamron SP 15-30mm F/2.8 Di VC USD : “One of the most important lenses in my bag is a good ultra wide angle, and Tamron knocked it out of the park when they came out with the new Tamron SP 15-30mm F/2.8 Di VC USD.  It has incredible corner to corner sharpness, color saturation and most importantly VC (Vibration Compensation). The VC allows me shoot as slow as 1/2 second exposures hand held, simply amazing.  They have now completed the trifecta of fast lenses for any photographer by adding this lens to their other two great lenses, the SP70-200mm F/2.8 DI VC USD & SP24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD.”

We are also hoping to have Ken do a guest post on the MCP Blog this summer on tips for better nature photos.  If you have something you’d like him to discuss in this post, ask in the comment section.  Thanks!

Oh boy….would I love to have this lens! This fall I am going on my first ever cruise….to Alaska! I can only imagine the landscape shots I could take with this lens!

I would love to win one of these for real estate photography and an upcoming wedding.

I would use this lens for everything you listed except the real estate. Especially that I am involved with a photo walk series along Lake Michigan with one of the events backed by 500,px. A good wide angle lens is what I need.

i would love to use this for landscape and night photography. I only have my kit lenses so a new one would be great for me!

Sounds like a fantastic lens! I would use it to take seasonal landscape pictures of our 120 acre prairie, which are used on our corporate intranet site, along with other printed materials. I’d also like to try to use it in some staged photoshoot situations. Thanks for the opportunity to win it! 🙂

Oh, I would use it to take pictures all over Colorado, then show them to my family in Scandinavia. If they can’t be here, at least I can share the beauty through pictures.

I just bought a Canon EOS 6D, my first full frame body. I truly wish that I can have this lens as I don’t have a wide angle and only have a Canon EF 85 f/1.8 and the pancake 40mm f/2.8. This would truly be useful for my weddings and real estate shots.

I would love to use it to capture all the beauty in Colorado and then share the pictures with my family in Scandinavia. If they can’t be here, at least we can share the beauty and everyday life through pictures.

I would use this for concert photography for sure.
