Three Top Features in the New Elements 14

Photoshop Elements 14Photoshop Elements 14 Boxshot_Side is hot off the presses, and MCP Actions has the scoop. What are the new features? Will your actions work? Keep reading to find out!

New Features in Photoshop Elements 14

These are my favorite of the additions to this year’s PSE:

  • Shake Reduction – Shake Reduction is Adobe’s answer to the blur that comes from hand holding cameras. It’s great for selfies and images where you need to lengthen shutter speed in order to expose correctly.

  • Refine Selection Edge – Just about every year, it seems that Adobe improves Elements’ selection tools. This year, The Refine Selection Brush is more sensitive and features an improved visual interface that shows exactly what you are selecting. Adobe removed the lion in the image below from its background using this tool. Impressive, right?PSE14_RefineEdge
  • Fast Motion – this one is for the “fun edits” category. Add the appearance of speed to your photos: in addition to toddlers in their toys, you could do this with kids on swings or cars driving by.PSE14_FastMotion

Actions in Photoshop Elements

In addition to these new features, the best news is that your MCP purchased Elements Actions will work in Elements 14. If you’re upgrading from Elements 11 or prior, you’ll need new files.  Simply login to your account on our website and look for your downloads. Redownload the action set and inside, you’ll find the new files waiting for you at no cost. Look for the folder labeled “Elements 11 and up.”

If you’re upgrading from Elements 12 or 13, you don’t need new files. Just re-install the actions already on your computer into PSE’s actions panel.

Loading actions into your new PSE is a good time to add a new one. MCP is currently offering a sale on Autumn Equinox, the short cut to rich warm edits for your fall images. Save 25% for a limited time!
