“This is my 12 yr. old son, Kody…also known as Kody Bear.

Kody has been fighting brainstem cancer for 5 years.

In January of 2002 we were told our beautiful 6 yr. old little boy would only be with us for 9 to 12 months. He was diagnosed with the most deadliest form of pediatric brain cancer known.

These past five years have had it’s ups and downs. Kody’s been through three major brain surgeries and one eye surgery.

There have been many times when we thought we would lose him.

But, Kody is a fighter, he is my “Hero”, he is my everything.

On August 8th 2007, after receiving probably his 100th MRI {or it seems}, we were told that Kody is now cancer free..there were no cancer cells found in his brain at all!!

Through cancer awareness, research and a team of dedicated, wonderful Dr’s at Shands Children’s Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, Kody, and we will look forward to a very long, healthy and beautiful life.

Thank you Mrs. Jodi for bringing awareness to thousands of people through your generosity and heart of gold.

May your sweet Father-in-Law Bernie feel the miracle of complete healing through many prayers from all over the world.”

Here is my 1st blog freebie - but a very meaningful one to me.

My Father In Law has Lymphoma and I wanted to do something to either raise money or awareness about cancer. I decided to do the latter. And wanted to tie it in with my talents, photoshop. So I have an incredible, fun free action set for everyone with cancer awareness as a theme.

It will convert your photo to black and white and then give you 14 different overlays (plus optional defog layer and contrast layer) to choose from. It is simple and fully adjustable. You can combine layer colors for more looks, and adjust the opacity.

To download it, click on the photo below to go this action on my site. Then the download link is there. Thank you and enjoy.

Also, read at the bottom of the page on my site about submiting a photo to me using this action. If your photo has a story behind it, related to cancer/being affected by cancer, you may get published on my blog.

I am fine tuning an action set that I will be giving free of charge. So it may be another week or so before I do a tutorial. Bare with me… This is going to be a fun action. So stay tuned. And spread the word about my blog.

And this week I launched a fun action on my site called COVER MODEL. Check it out. I would love a few more examples to run it on (maybe even a baby or child that has a model like look.

MCP Actions Quick Purchase

Hi everyone! I have some really exciting news.

I have made some major revisions to my eye/teeth actions and to my workflow (color/BW/vintage sets). I have added some great new features.  So if you are looking for sharper, brighter eyes, whiter teeth, and more contrast and pop to your photos using actions in Photoshop, you will not want to miss these.

Plus I made the names a whole lot more fun! Here is some information on the new sets. To learn more, click on the photos.

If you are wanting to upgrade to this new set, please contact me. If you already have the eye pop/teeth white you can upgrade to the “Eye Doctor & Dentist” for $5. If you already have the Color, BW, Vintage set - you can upgrade to the Complete Workflow Set for $5. Please send me your name and the email you used to pay with paypal, so I can check my records. I will email you a pay pal link. And then can send you the new actions.

There have not been any changes to the Polka Dot Borders or the Gallery Frame Actions - other than the updated look.

Thank you - and thanks to everyone who helped me come up with some names too.

Jodi

CALLING ALL CREATIVE PEOPLE!! September 14th, 2007

MCP Actions Quick Purchase

I am looking to rename my action sets and parts of my actions with more creative names. I want the names to be fun and all flow together.

Here is what I am looking to rename:

Of these the color and eye ones are the main ones I really need help with. The others I am okay changing or leaving.

  • My Color Pop Action (presenty just called MCP Color Pop)- which really is an overall workflow action that pops color, enhances the photo, sharpens it and more. It is completely customizable and adjustable.
  • Opps I blew it - for preserving highlights that often get blown in conversions
  • Out from the Shadows - for bringing out details lost in shadows
  • Deeper and Richer - for making shadows even more moody
  • My Black and White Action (presently called Take My Color Away)- which is a black and white action.
  • Chocolate Wishes (part of the black and white for a slightly brown conversion)
  • Feeling Blue (part of the black and white for a slightly blue toned conversion)
  • Take My Color Away - Vintage Action - to give a muted older feel
  • MCP Eye Pop - to enhance eyes and make them really pop
  • MCP teeth whitening - to make teeth brighter and more importantly whiter

I am just not creative with names - and I am hoping to get some idea and help from my blog readers. if you have ideas, please email me at momoftwins@comcast.net.

Thank you so much.

Jodi

MCP Actions Quick Purchase

Things have been hectic here. So when that happens, I sometimes do not have time to post a tip or tutorial. Instead, I will try and post some photos those weeks - and if possible I will tell you what settings I used and such.

Here are my twins on their 1st day of kindergarten.

Settings - it was in the 8:30 in the AM and sun was low and the light was great and consistant. I was on Manual - ISO 200, 1/125, 4.0 (wide open for my 24-105 lens). For editing, I ran my color pop action, my eye pop on one or two of the closeups, and then added a frame/watermark and reduced size for web.
