12 Free Photoshop Books plus 3 MCP Favorite Books Revealed

If I told you I had a dozen free Photoshop books to give you, is that something you would be interested in?

Yesterday I gave you 18 free previews of photography books.  Today is Photoshop book day.  Think about the old days when you could sit in a book store and page through books before deciding if you wanted to buy them…  Well with Amazon and other online book stores, you basically guess if you like a book.  And who has time for bookstores anymore?  When I do get to go to the bookstore, my kids want to be in the “children’s area.”

And on the off chance I make it to the Photoshop section, the selection is usually poor at best and the prices higher than online.

So today at MCP Actions Blog, I bring you a bookstore – a small one of dozen books.  In my time, I have owned many Photoshop books.  I found a few available in preview mode – and added some others with potential.  Many Photoshop and Lightroom Books were unavailable in this format.  These books below are called Limited Previews – basically they skip a page or two here and there – but most of the book is intact for you.  So you can scan and see if you get enough from it this way – or if you want to buy it so you can hold it and embrace it.

Here are 3 of my favorite Photoshop books that are NOT available in preview form – but the post felt incomplete by not listing them:

Below are the ones available for preview.  I hope you enjoy – and I hope you will twitter, stumbleupon, and digg this post (using buttons at the bottom) so others can utilize this resource.

Thanks – Jodi

I just got Skin over memorial weekend and read it poolside in the Dells. It was my trashy Summer read, lol. I love it!

Hey Jodi this looks great, and a few friends of mine were actually curious about PS after seeing what I do to photos, so I’ve re-posted this on my FaceBook 😀

I’ve read a lot of those preview books and it’s a nice treat to get to see if it’s something you feel should be in your personal library or not! I have the book, Skin, and really love it. It’s definitely a home library book and one to really learn from! Good stuff!

I’ve got CS4 The Missing Manual and I love it. It really is the book that should have been in the box! The one by Richard Harrington looks good too, really basic which would be great for beginners like me!
