Every once in a while I am going to post a question I get asked repeatedly (about photoshop or about my actions).
Today’s question has to do with the Complete Workflow Actions – and specifically “Color Explosion.”
It is an incredible workflow action for certain types of outdoor photos, things with colorful walls, rust on old cars, etc. I often get asked “how come I cannot save my image as a jpg after I use this action?”
The answer to today’s frequently asked question is: “You need to finish running the action.” When it asks you to paint on the photo with the mask selected – it also mentions that you need to click play to resume the action. It is not kidding. If you do not do this step, you cannot save as a jpg.” So, if you are using this action and run into this problem, make sure to finish running it. It will sharpen your photo and then convert back to RGB so you can save it.
“What can you do if you already saved as a psd and do not want to run the action again?” Go under IMAGE – MODE – RGB. Then you can save your photo to a jpg.
Hope this helps!

WOW! I didn’t think there was anything I could do about that…It happened and I never thought about it again and just kinda stayed away from actions that did that. Thanks for the tip…now I can open up some much loved .psd’s and actually use them! Thanks!
