Panasonic used the Consumer Electronics Show 2013 to its maximum potential, unveiling ten new cameras in the Lumix series.

Panasonic was very busy today at the Consumer Electronics Show 2013, where the company presented no less than ten Lumix cameras, including the rugged DMC-TS5, DMC-ZS30 and the DMC-LZ30 compact camera, which features a 35x optical zoom.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS30 (TZ40) and Lumix DMC-ZS25 (TZ25) ultra compact cameras

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS30 is a camera with an 18.1-megapixel 24mm ultra-wide angle lens from Leica. The company heralds a 20x Super Zoom technology which provides 35mm equivalent from a 24 to 480mm lens. The camera is capable of recording full HD videos in PAL at 50p and in NTSC format at 60p.

The Lumix DMC-ZS30 also features WiFi support alongside NFC, GPS, a 3-inch touchscreen with touch autofocus, touch zoom and touch shutter controls and up to 6400 ISO. Equally worth mentioning, the camera can shoot up to 10 frames per second and 5 frames per second using the continuous autofocus feature.

Panasonic Lumix ZS25 is very similar with the camera presented above, though it features a smaller 16.1-megapixel HS MOS sensor. It has the same 20x Super Zoom technology alongside 10fps burst mode and a 3-inch display. It can record full HD movies in MPEG-4 / H.264 format.

The Lumix ZS25 is lacking NFC, WiFi and GPS, though it is understandable, as it is a lower-end camera.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS5 (FT5) and Lumix DMC-TS25 (FT25) rugged cameras

Lumix TS5 is the most rugged camera from Panasonic, since it was designed for outdoor activities. It proclaims WiFi, NFC, GPS with GLONASS support, and a coating which makes it dustproof, waterproof, freezeproof and shockproof.

Its features include a 16.1-megapixel sensor which can record 1,920 x 1,080 movies in AVCHD format. There are several special abilities added in the package, including Creative Control, Time Lapse Shot, Creative Panorama and Creative Retouch.

The Lumix DMC-TS25 features the same 16.1-megapixel sensor and ruggedness as the aforementioned DMC-TS5, but is lacking awesome features like WiFi, GPS and NFC. However, it can record videos at only 720p resolution, while having a smaller 2.7-inch display compared to TS5’s 3-inch screen.
