The company announced that the FinePix F900EXR features a 16-megapixel image sensor with built-in Phase Detection AF system, which is “guilty” for guaranteeing such a short autofocus time. Accurate autofocus is assured regardless of camera settings or weather conditions, says Fujifilm.

After focusing on their subjects so fast, users can trigger the shutter and then share the content using the Wireless Image Transfer function. The Fujifilm FinePix F900EXR features built-in WiFi which allows users to send photos to their Android or iOS devices.

Speaking of photos, they are taken using a 1/2″ 16MP EXR-CMOS II sensor and a Fujinon “20x wide-angle long-zoom lens.” The company is touting a focal length between 25 to 500mm (considering the 35mm focal length equivalent) and a boot time of only 1.1 seconds. Zoom performance can be doubled, thanks to the Intelligent Digital Zoom technology.

“Super-fast” burst mode rates

The Fujifilm FinePix F900EXR can capture multiple shots using a burst-mode rate of 11 frames per second, says the company’s official press release. This quick continuous mode will be useful to users shooting fast-moving objects and it works perfectly in combination with the 0.05-second AF speed.

Macro Mode is supported by this ultra-zoom camera, which is able to focus at subjects located at a minimum distance of only 1.9 inches / 4.8 centimeters.

A bunch of photographic filters are available in the compact camera and the list includes Miniature, Toy Camera, Pop Color, Dynamic Tone, Soft Focus, Partial Color, and High / Low Key. RAW support has been added to this shooter, allowing photographers to post-process their shots like professionals.

Fujifilm’s FinePix F900EXR can record videos at 1080p full HD resolution and 60 frames per second. It can also shoot panoramas, using the Motion Panorama 360 option. Eye-Fi and SD /SDHC/SDXC cards are supported on this shooter, which has been set for a March 2013 release date and a MSRP of $399.95.
