Canon will replace the EOS 60D with the 70D at the end of March. The new DSLR will have an improved build quality and significantly better specs.

Canon 70D, the EOS 60D replacement coming at the end of March

There are no official details regarding an announcement over the next four weeks, but the source is pretty confident that Canon will reveal a replacement for the EOS 60D on March 19 or March 26.

The replacement for the EOS 60D will be the Canon 70D, confirmed the source. However, no specifications were mentioned, therefore the fans will have to wait a little bit longer to find out more details about the upcoming shooter.

The source believes that the Canon 70D is going to be a major improvement over the 60D. The new DSLR will get away from the so-called “super Rebel” category and will have a superior build quality, when compared to its predecessor.

Canon 7D Mark II specs have already been leaked

If Canon pushes the boundaries of professional DSLRs with the 70D, then the rumored 7D Mark II will also get a greatly improved specifications sheet and build quality.

It is worth reminding that some of Canon 7D Mark II specs have been leaked on the web. It appears that the DSLR will feature a 24.1-megapixel sensor, dual DIGIC 5 image processor, 3.2-inch display, WiFi, GPS, and a 61-point autofocus system.

The 7D Mark II is rumored to be unveiled towards the end of the summer and to be released for a price of $2,199 in early fall.

For the time being, these are just rumors and no official photos were leaked on the web. As usual, more information should be unearthed closer to the camera’s release date and there are less than four weeks remaining until March 26, so the announcement is very, very close.
