SVS-Vistek, a Germany-based company, has introduced a new Micro Four Thirds camera called EVO Tracer.

SVS-Vistek announced last fall that it will launch a new Micro Four Thirds camera. It did not take too long for the company to complete its project, therefore the SVCam-EVO Tracer has finally been unveiled.

The German manufacturer continues its tradition of releasing high-performance CCD cameras with the launch of the EVO Tracer.

SVS-Vistek’s EVO Tracer Micro Four Thirds camera comes packed with 12-megapixel CCD image sensor, two Ethernet connections, and full aperture control.

SVS-Vistek’s EVO Tracer can handle images of up to 12-megapixel

The exact number of megapixels is unknown, but the company’s EVO cameras have an image quality range between 1 and 12 megapixels, so it is safe to say that the Tracer can handle 12MP imagery.

Most of the shooter’s specs have been announced. According to the manufacturer, the EVO Tracer provides quick controls for aperture, focal length, and focus, and comes packed with Ethernet connection support, allowing users to control the lenses via Ethernet.

It appears that the shooter can handle two Ethernet connections at the same time. Additionally, SVS-Vistek offers a Software Development Kit for both Windows and Linux operating systems.

The camera will be available with monochrome or color image sensors, both manufactured by Truesense Imaging. The design of the EVO Tracer is very similar to the one of Hasselblad shooters, specifically the 903SWC, which is shaped like a cube.

SVS-Vistek is offering Sequence Shutter mode support, improved Strobe control, and enhanced object tracking, thus making it the ideal surveillance cam.

First industrial Micro Four Thirds camera expected to become available soon

The company claims that the EVO Tracer was designed for military applications, commercial vehicles, transportation, aerial imaging, robotics, and cinematography.

SVS-Vistek’s first industrial Micro Four Thirds shooter also features better exposure control, a rugged housing, and programmable “area of interests.”

It is unknown when the Micro Four Thirds-compatible camera will become available on the market. Moreover, SVS-Vistek has not disclosed the price.

Anyway, the EVO Tracer will most likely become available very soon for a decent price, but it will be well worth it as it will allow owners to keep an eye out on their belongings.
