First Leica M camera to feature live view and to be capable of recording videos

It is worth noting that this is the first “M” series shooter to come packed with live view and video recording capabilities. Despite its hefty price tag, the system received praise from customers thanks to the full M-mount lens compatibility.

The German camera maker says that R-mount lenses can be equipped on the Type 240 M, but photographers will have to use a special adapter in order to mount the lenses on the camera.

The Leica M rangefinder also features a MAESTRO image processor, shutter speed range between 1/4000 and 60 seconds, ISO sensitivity up to 6,400, SD / SDHC storage card support, and a 3-inch 920k-dot LCD screen.

Leica is selling the shooter at select retailers in the United State, but it appears that availability is very limited. Nevertheless, the camera can be tested at the brand new Leica Store Miami.
