Sigma 35mm f/1.4 lens coming on May 31 for Sony and Pentax cameras

The Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM lens will become available for Sony and Pentax mounts as of May 31, while 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM telephoto zoom lens shipments will begin on the same date.

Sigma has taken the world by storm when it announced the 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM prime lens late last year. The DxOMark experts have even gone as far as saying that the company’s “Art” optic is the best 35mm wide-angle lens available on the market, even though it is among the cheapest.

Sigma 35mm f/1.4 lens to hit Pentax and Sony cameras on May 31

Since the Japan-based company has attracted so many positive reviews, Pentax and the adamant Sony fans have requested a port in order to be able to attach it to their devices. Now, Sigma has officially announced on its website that it is designing Pentax and Sony versions of the product, and that they will be released on May 31.

The Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM lens price at Amazon stands at $899 and the product is currently in stock. It is compatible with Canon and Nikon cameras, and it has gathered plenty of great feedback from portrait photographers, who enjoy taking close-up shots.

A secondary announcement has been made, as well. The Japanese manufacturer has revealed that the Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM telephoto zoom lens will begin shipping on May 31, too, but only for Nikon DSLRs.

This lens has been officially introduced during the Consumer Electronics 2013 show. It is a durable product, able to withstand dust, moisture, and other harsh conditions, therefore it is aimed at sports and wildlife photographers.

Sigma’s 120-300mm lens maintains a contest aperture of f/2.8 throughout the focal range

It is part of the “Sports” series and it is among the few lenses capable of maintaining a constant and fast aperture of f/2.8 throughout the zoom range. The company says that the firmware can be user-modified, in order to better suit the users’ needs.

Just like the 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM, the Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM lens has been greatly appreciated by reviewers, who claim that this product is a safe bet for the future.
