Canon 70D specs leaked with 20.2-megapixel sensor and WiFi

The Canon 70D specs list has been leaked in a promotional material, which has confirmed that the DSLR camera will feature a 20.2-megapixel sensor and WiFi.

Canon 70D is one of the most rumored cameras of 2013. Although there has been a small period of silence regarding the camera, talks have started once again in recent times, after a source has revealed that there is a big event coming up in 6 to 8 weeks.

Canon 70D specs will include 20.2-megapixel sensor, 19-point AF system, DIGIC 5+ processor, WiFi, 12800 ISO, 3-inch articulated touchscreen, HDR, full HD, and up to 7fps in continuous mode.

The talks have really intensified following that rumor, with one source claiming that the event will actually take place in just a few days. Well, everything seems to check out, as the Canon 70D specs have been spotted in a promotional material.

If Canon makes advertising material, then the launch event will not wait to appear. Either way, the DSLR camera features a new 20.2-megapixel APS-C CMOS image sensor and it is powered by a DIGIC 5+ image processor.

This means that the DIGIC 6 processing engine will not make its way to the DSLR lineup, after being introduced in the PowerShot series earlier this year.

Canon 70D specs include articulated touchscreen, WiFi, and HDR mode

The Canon 70D specs list also includes a 19-point cross-type autofocus system, continuous shooting mode up to 7 frames per second, and integrated WiFi to share photos on smartphones and tablets instantly.

Photographers will benefit from a 3-inch articulated LCD touchscreen, ISO sensitivity up to 12800, and Dual Pixel CMOS Autofocus technology, which should allow the camera to focus on its subjects a lot faster than its predecessor.

Canon’s upcoming shooter will also be capable of capturing 1920 x 1080p movies and will pack HDR and Multi-Exposure modes, allowing users to get more creative.

Canon 70D launch event taking place on July 2

Canon EOS 70D announcement date has been scheduled for July 2, when the company’s fans will also get a price confirmation for both the body-only version and for the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens kit.

Meanwhile, the EOS 60D price has suffered a major drop at Amazon, where it is available for no more than $599.
