Samsung WB110 bridge camera announced with 20.2MP sensor

Samsung WB110 has become the South Korean’s company latest bridge camera, featuring a 26x optical zoom lens to accommodate all photographic scenarios.

Samsung is very proud of its long-zoom cameras therefore it has decided to expand the WB series with the new WB110. The device is aimed at getting the photographer closer to the subject, while capturing higher-quality photos.

Samsung WB110 bridge camera
Samsung has announced a new bridge camera, the WB110, which features a 20.2-megapixel CCD sensor and a 4-104mm (22-580mm 35mm-format equivalent).

Samsung WB110 becomes official alongside 22.3mm ultra-wide angle lens

The company is praising the lens found in the shooter, which offers a 4-104mm focal length and a f/3.1-5.9 maximum aperture.  Since the camera is equipped with a 1/2.3″-format 20.2-megapixel CCD sensor, it will provide a 35mm equivalent of about 22-580mm.

Samsung likes to be more exact and it says that, at the lowest focal length, the 35mm format equivalent will stand at 22.3mm. This makes it an ultra-wide angle lens, which is said to be great for putting everything in focus.

Samsung WB110 specs
Samsung WB110 is rocking a 3-inch LCD screen on its back, as well as the usual buttons, allowing photographers to control the camera.

Samsung WB110 specs are similar to the WB100 ones

The Samsung WB110 specs list engulfs a 3-inch LCD screen, ISO up to 3200, 720p video recording at 30 frames per second, SDHC card slot of up to 32GB or SDXC of up to 64GB, and video output support through a HDMI port.

The bridge camera provides a Smart Auto mode that is aimed at helping beginner photographers. This mode will analyze the scene and choose the best settings, allowing users to capture the best photos across all conditions.

Samsung does not forget that lensmen are fond of panorama shots, therefore a Live Panorama scene is available, which does exactly what its name is suggesting.

The dual image stabilization technology is still there, just like in the previous WB100 camera, incorporating both digital and optical IS elements.

Samsung WB110 release date
Samsung WB110 release date remains unknown for now. Despite this fact, it would be safe to assume that the bridge camera is coming very soon to a store near you.

South Korean company keeps hiding bridge camera’s availability information

Samsung WB110 release date and price details have not been mentioned in the announcement. However, the device is expected to become available for purchase in the near future at a price similar to the one of its predecessor.

Speaking of which, the Samsung WB100 can still be bought at Amazon for a price of $159, down from $229.99.
