Kenko Tokina DSC880DW waterproof camera supports 3-meter depths

The new Kenko Tokina DSC880DW can withstand the pressure 3-meter depths for up to an hour. After that, photographer should get out and leave the camera to dry for a while, in order to jump back again.

An interesting feature of the device is represented by its two LCD screens. The one in the back measures 2.7-inch and it can be used for shooting whatever is in front of the lens. However, a secondary 1.8-inch display is found in the front of the camera and it is quite useful for underwater portrait photography.

Photographers have full 8 megapixels at their disposal

Tokina’s new shooter comes packed with a 1/3.2″-type CMOS image sensor capable of capturing 8-megapixel photos and a 1.8mm f/2.8 lens, providing a 35mm equivalent of 14mm, with 4x digital zoom.

The Kenko Tokina DSC880DW is capable of focusing at just 15 centimeters and capture videos at VGA (640 x 480) resolution at 30 frames per second.

Store up to 32GB of photos on this tiny shooter

Images can be stored on microSDHC cards of up to 32GB and microSD cards of up to 2GB respectively. No matter your storage solution, the camera offers a shutter speed range between 1/4000th of a second and 1/8th of a second.

The regular white balance presets are available, too, while a self-timer will give you 10 seconds to position yourself in the shot. Other notable information consists of a presence of a built-in flash and USB 2.0 port, while the power is supplied via a pair of AAA batteries.

Kenko Tokina DSC880DW release date and price still not announced

The camera will weigh 151 grams with batteries and storage included. Unfortunately, its release date is unknown, just like its price.

Either way, Kenko Tokina is expected to reveal the availability information pretty soon, so if this camera impresses you, then you will have to wait just a little bit longer to get your hands on it.
