Fujifilm has released several new firmware updates for its cameras and lenses, including the X-Pro1, X-E1, XF 14mm f/2.8, and XF 35mm f/1.4.

Fujifilm has recently promised that the X-Pro1 and X-E1 cameras will be upgradeable to firmware version 3.00 and 2.00, respectively. The updates are bringing a number of important updates, including focus peaking, as well as faster autofocus when using some lenses.

These firmware updates are available for download right now, as well as upgrades for other cameras and a bunch of lenses. The list includes the FinePix XP200, FinePix S8400W, and FinePix F900EXR, while the optics catalog engulfs the XF 14mm f/2.8 R, XF 18mm f/2 R, XF 35mm f/1.4 R, XF60mm f/2.4 R Macro, and XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS.

Fujifilm X-Pro1 and X-E1 are now upgradeable to a new firmware that brings Focus Peaking and faster AF speeds.

The Fujifilm X-E1 and X-Pro1 firmware updates have the same changelog. They will bring Focus Peak Highlight to the cameras, the ability to change magnification on manual focus easier, and improved accuracy of the focus algorithm.

Additionally, the autofocus speeds when using the XF 14mm f/2.8, XF 18mm f/2, XF 35mm f/1.4, XF60mm f/2.4, and XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 lenses have been enhanced.

Fujifilm FinePix F900EXR, S8400W, and XP200 upgraded, too

The Fujifilm FinePix F900EXR firmware update 1.02 comes packed with improved communication with smartphones and PCs in wireless transfer and PC auto save modes, respectively.

The Fujifilm FinePix S8400W firmware update 1.04 further enhances the optical image stabilization technology, while optimizing autofocus accuracy when shooting both images and videos.

The Fujifilm FinePix XP200 firmware update 1.01 fixes a bug which caused battery charging or image transferring not to work through a USB cable with the Quick Start Mode set to 10MIN or 24MIN modes.

Several X-mount lenses can be updated now to support faster AF speeds

Fujifilm’s Fujinon XF 14mm f/2.8 R, XF 18mm f/2 R, XF 35mm f/1.4 R, XF60mm f/2.4 R Macro, and XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS lenses are also upgradeable to a new firmware, as stated above.

The updates are necessary in order to take advantage of the faster autofocus speeds on the X-Pro1 and X-E1 cameras.
