Panasonic Lumix GX7 will be unveiled on August 1, along with tilting viewfinder and screen, as well as 16-megapixel image sensor.

Panasonic GX7 announcement date to be August 1

Sources are reporting that the device is officially coming during the first day of August. This information is backed up by a popular German magazine, called Foto Magazin, which will release a new issue on the same day. Its cover is already available on the web and it mentions the Panasonic GX7.

This means that the rumor mill has got it right once again. It is unlikely that the shooter will go on sale by the end of August. At least one month will be allowed to pass before Panasonic starts selling the Lumix GX7, therefore September is a much more likely release date target.

Lumix GX7 to be capable of taking 40 shots per second

Beside the Panasonic GX7 announcement date, leaksters have made a completion to the camera’s specs list. It appears that the wheel found on the back will provide double functionality when pressing a button, which is probably the “Fn”.

Another wheel is placed around the shutter button and it will provide some special functions as well. The report also says that autofocus will work even at -4EV and the GX7 will be somehow capable of capturing 40 frames per second.

Furthermore, there will be in-camera editing capabilities. Photographers will be able to retouch shots and even remove unwanted objects from the frame.

A more detailed list of Panasonic GX7’s specifications has appeared on the web recently. It said that the MFT system will feature a 16-megapixel sensor, full HD video recording at 60fps, NFC, WiFi, tilting 2.76 million-dot electronic viewfinder, and tilting 3-inch 1.04 million-dot LCD screen.

The information goes further with support for Focus Peaking and built-in image stabilization technology, as well as a Silent mode to cut operation noises to a minimum.

The Lumix GX7 will be able to capture images at a maximum ISO sensitivity of 25,600 and with a peak shutter speed of 1/8000th of a second. As stated above, these details will become official soon and Micro Four Thirds fans will not be disappointed.
