Blackmagic Cinema Camera price has been dropped to $1,995, down from $2,995, as the company’s Pocket Cinema Camera model has begun shipping.
Blackmagic has drawn a lot of attention thanks to its small, but very powerful video recording cameras. The original Cinema Camera is available with EF and MFT mounts. It is capable of shooting 2.5K videos, while providing 13 stops of wide dynamic range.
Blackmagic Cinema Camera price suffers $1,000 drop to $1,995
Up until recently, the Blackmagic Cinema Camera price has been deemed as prohibitive, despite the features, as consumers are reluctant to buy a video-centric shooter. However, the device has just become a must-buy for videographers, as its price has been lowered to only $1,995.
Both models are available with a $1,000 discount, which is probably permanent. The EF and MFT versions support 12-bit RAW, various frame rates, including 30p, 25p, and 24p, LCD touchscreen on the back, and the ability to record videos on a SSD.
The Blackmagic Cinema camera with EF mount is available for $1,995 at Amazon and B&H Photo Video, while the MFT mount model can be purchased only at the latter retailer.
Blackmagic begins shipping the Pocket Cinema Camera
Blackmagic has also announced that its Pocket Cinema Camera has begun shipping. It features a Super 16mm image sensor, 13-stop dynamic range, full HD CinemaDNG RAW video support, 3.5-inch LCD 800 x 480 resolution screen, HDMI port, and SDXC / SDHC memory card slot.
The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera is available only with a Micro Four Thirds mount. The company has released a day-one firmware update for the shooter.
The Pocket version is available for $995 at B&H Photo Video.
Blackmagic Production Camera 4K delayed again
Meanwhile, the Blackmagic Production Camera 4K has been delayed one more time. The manufacturer says that it has just received the first sensor shipment, therefore it needs more time to finish the software.
The Production Camera 4K features a Super 35mm sensor with 4K RAW video support, a built-in SSD, 5-inch 800 x 480 LCD touchscreen, and Canon EF mount compatibility.
This version can be pre-ordered at B&H Photo Video for $3,995 with shipping expected to begin this September.
