A Nikon D800X DSLR model has been created by a Taiwan-based artist, in order to show his dedication to the Japanese company.

The Nikon D800 has proven to be a very popular camera. Thanks to a D800’s 36.3-megapixel image sensor, the company has attracted a lot of interest from photographers worldwide.

The D800 has been joined on the market by the D800E, another big-megapixel DSLR whose only difference compared to the D800 consists of the lack of an anti-aliasing filter.

In order to pay a tribute to this pair, an artist has creased the D800X, a large replica of the D800 and D800E.

Shortly after being announced, the D800 has been joined by another sibling, called Nikon D800E. The new version is more expensive because it offers a higher image quality, thanks to the removal of the internal optical low-pass filter.

Removing the anti-aliasing filter has not been entirely welcomed by photographers because it could cause photos to become more prone to moiré effects. Well, Nikon has done a great job in reducing those fears to the minimum.

Either way, both versions are said to be a real success and they still do not have a real competitor from Canon, which is rumored to announce its own big megapixel unit sometime in late 2013 or early 2014.

In order to pay a tribute to this camera, a Taiwanese artist has decided to create a huge mock-up of the D800. It will certainly make you say that this is what a full frame camera should look like, but you might encounter some troubles using it as it is very large.

Thankfully, the so-called Nikon D800X DSLR camera model is not a working one. It if were to be real, then it would have weighed too much. This means that its usability levels would have been kept to a minimum.

The name of the artist is unknown. However, it is said that the designer, who had created it, is a photographer using a Nikon camera and currently working for the YAGE Image House Car Art Studio.

It is worth noting that the pictures show a nice lady holding the model, but she has not designed it. Anyway, the Nikon D800X features a 14-24mm f/2.8G ED AF-S lens, which is reality is available for $1,996.95 at Amazon.

Speaking of which, the conventional D800 costs $2,796 at the same retailer, while the OLPF-less D800E can be bought for $3,296.95.
