Sony’s DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100 lens-cameras can be attached to iPhone and Android smartphones

The photos confirm that upcoming DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100 modules can be attached to smartphones. In the shots we can see an Android smartphone, possibly the Xperia Z or the i1 Honami, which has not been announced officially by Sony, though the former option is much more likely than the latter.

Sources say that the accessories can be attached to Android smartphones. However, the magnets will also work on the iPhone, meaning that iOS users will be able to download a special app and control the revolutionary gadgets.

They will not pack a display therefore they need to be connected to a mobile phone, in order to use their screens in Live View mode. This will allow photographers to compose their images.
