Dxo FilmPack 4.1 software update is available for download now, so that it can be used as an Adobe Photoshop CC plugin.

DxO FilmPack 4 has become available earlier this year

DxO Optics Pro may be its most popular software, but the so-called DxO FilmPack is a program with a nice set of filters, which allows users to apply the old-looking film-like filters to digital image files.

Earlier this year, the company has released DxO FilmPack 4, with several new features and filters. According to DxO Labs, no less than 65 new effects have been added, allowing users to apply retro scenery to their photos.

DxO FilmPack 4.1 software update is here to support Adobe Photoshop CC

Less than three months later, the DxO FilmPack 4.1 software update has become available for download in order to bring compatibility with Adobe Photoshop CC.

It is widely-known that Adobe has replaced its Creative Suite applications with the new Creative Cloud. Although the decision to move everything into the cloud has been met with negative criticism, it seems like Photoshop CC and other apps are enjoying the presence of a lot of users. As a result, DxO FilmPack has had to become compatible with Adobe’s editing program.

Customers can still use DxO FilmPack as a standalone application on both Windows and Mac platforms

It is worth noting that DxO FilmPack 4.1 is also capable of working as a standalone program on Windows and Mac OS X computers. However, it can be used as a plugin for a number of Adobe image editing apps, such as Photoshop CS3 / CS4 / CS5 / CS6, Lightroom 4 / 5, Elements 10 / 11, DxO Optics Pro 8, and Apple Aperture 10 / 11.

The software update can be downloaded at the company’s official website. Anyway, if you do not own, then you can download a free 30-day trial. If the app convinces you, then you will be required to pay $79 in order to buy it.

Meanwhile, Adobe is allowing existing Creative Suite customers to agree to a one-year subscription plan for Photoshop CC for only $19.99 per month. This offer will expire on August 31 so you might want to hurry up if you need this software.
