I love creating images of kids that their Mom’s can’t. I love the excitement a Mom has over the images I’ve created for her. It’s my driving force. People pleasing, the love of photography, and all those whacky kiddos I get to meet. Best. Job. Ever.

  12. Tuesdee on October 23, 2013 at 8:20 am

Things that “inspire” me. Nature, my kids, and family. To capture a moment is my way of capturing a memory or an emotion. The moment lasts but a minute but the picture captures the memory and that can last a lifetime! Love your actions that help bring it to life!

I think my biggest inspiration comes from my mother. She’s been gone for about a year now, but I always think of what she would think when I’m out on a photo op & how much she would enjoy seeing the shots I took.

  19. Shelley on October 23, 2013 at 8:23 am

Capturing a genuine emotion. Freezing time so that you can always remember the sweetness of your child’s chubby cheeks and twinkling eyes, things that fade from memory after a while. I know nothing stays the same forever, so I like capturing little snapshots of our lives so I can remember all the little details.

  28. Kerrie Monti on October 23, 2013 at 8:26 am

What inspires me: My youngest son. He’s 12 and he’s a special needs child. Justin has a way to make you want to see people and the world we live in as beautiful. He is unable to move hisself, and keeps his arms bent and held tight. Believe it or not, this inspires me to have people move differently in their poses, because they are able too. And I love natural smiles and laughs. This is something Justin does all the time. I also get inspired by taking classes from well known photographers on CreativeLive. Awesomeness.

  42. Kelli on October 23, 2013 at 8:31 am

The thing that inspires me most about photography is the ability to evoke a feeling of confidence in people once they seem themselves reflected in the images I produce for them. The response of, “I look so pretty!” is one of the best emotional responses I am lucky enough to hear from my clients, and it inspires me to spread the positivity!

  43. Amber on October 23, 2013 at 8:33 am

I’m inspired by my clients. I had a client (who is now a good friend) that I did wedding photos for. There is one image of her with her father (wasn’t in my final edit, blurry & all) and they were laughing so hard at something that only they would get and he recently got very, very sick. She shows and shares this image with everyone she knows and absolutely loves it and that moment they shared. It makes me realize why I love what I do!

  44. Cassandra Tenney on October 23, 2013 at 8:33 am

I am inspired by the beauty I see in everything when taking the time to look thru that little viewfinder on mt camera!

  47. Christine on October 23, 2013 at 8:34 am

I am inspired by laughter. There’s something about the unrestrained joy in a laugh; the way the eyes crinkle and sparkle, the elevation of the head…it’s so unmistakeable. And it’s infectious. When you see someone laughing, you laugh and that ebullience just spreads. They say kids laugh 10 times more often each day than adults, so I listen acutely for my own children laughing and just bathe in the joy. When I’ve got my camera ready, I capture those moments to relive over and over. <3

Lately my biggest inspiration comes from MCP group posts on Facebook. I see some amazing photographers along with newbies and hobbiest all showing their latest work and others banding together to give CC. I learn something new each day that challenges me to go out and see things in a different light.I can’t wait for Inspire to come out and to order it to experiment all over again with some of my images to see what I can recreate! Actions are a whole new side to Photography and Photoshop (and presets in Lightroom). Thanks for all the actions, presets and inspiration and advice! 🙂

If I had to pin it down, I think color contrast, texture and light are the things that inspire me the most. Esp when I can get solar flare, so I love the shot at the top of this page. I think it’s because it feels so real, as if you are actually there, experiencing that moment when the photo was taken.

  89. melissa on October 23, 2013 at 8:46 am

Inspiration is what finds me with camera in hand, it’s the joy my photos bring to others, it’s the fascination with which they look at my photos , it’s the amazement that the photo has frozen the moment forever and that there is something different about it. Inspiration also comes from me taking the time to stop and really appreciate my surroundings and really take it all in instead of rushing around and missing all the good stuff.

I am inspired by natural smiles of families and children in particular. I love capturing joy on their faces. Other times I am inspired by dance movements and sequential patterns that the human body can make and freeze them in motion. Both of those genres are equally appealing because they move me internally and compel me to shoot more and more

What inspires me the most? Capturing life. Literally. Most of my work as a photographer is as a volunteer infant bereavement photographer for NILMDTS. I record moments that are truly irreplaceable. I have served over 100 families now in that capacity and have subsequently had the pleasure of photographing dozens of “rainbow babies”, the babies born after a loss. I’d love this set for those sessions, the happy, heal your heart sessions.

I am imspired by the beauty in the things around me. I love being able to take a location and make it look like something amazing. Whether it is a senior session at a rundown building or an engagement shoot at an old barn, I just love hearing my clients visions and styles and making them come to life with the things around us.

My kids and my faith. My kids are the driving force behind what I do.I treat each session as they are my own and its a joy and honor to capture moments with my sweet clients. Many have become close friends and this “business” has turned in to more of a relationship building “business” than anything else. Capturing and providing images is an added bonus:)!

I’m inspired by my dad. He loved photography and even had his own studio when I was a kid. He was so proud of me when I decided to make it more than a hobby. He would give me tips all the time on the phone and took pride in seeing my growth. He passed away suddenly in April. I miss him dearly and I know he’s watching me from above and cheering me on with every click. So, I not only do this for me, but to continue to make him proud.

I am inspired by finding beauty in the most mundane environments and simple moments. I live in Los Angeles, a city with a lot of grit and rough edges, but there are so many extraordinary places and people that I think too many of us Angelenos don’t even notice.

There’s absolutely nothing like capturing the pure, innocent, unadulterated joy on a child’s face, or the excitement of a parent seeing pictures from a newborn shoot. Knowing these moments will be cherished forever is what inspires me… and that pure JOY! I’m still learning, but loving it!

I would say that I am most inspired by the people I photograph. I take shots that I would like and then adjust to create what I hope to be a beautiful representation of the person. When they see the pictures and smile, compliment and even get sentimental I know I am doing this right for them.

I am inspired by my grandkids. I started my daughter off in photography and she eventually earned a bachelor’s degree in fine art, majoring in photography. She takes incredible images. Her kids have inspired me to take more “people” images rather than landscapes and gardens. What better inspiration than beautiful kids!!!

What most inspires me is all under the same umbrella. The sense of humor the universe has is the most catching to me.. it gets you down THEN builds you up all in the same instance. Its a very competitive field. but if you have drive and dedication in your vision it can be the most rewarding thing to see other people’s eyes on your work. putting myself out there and growing is what most inspires me. as a woman, it the most uncomfortable i’ve ever been. but i couldn’t be happier!!

Those are the moments that I like to remember and love to preserve for those I am photographing. Then they can look back at the photo and say “remember when…”

I live on a ranch in an area where there is still some native grasslands. Needless to say they have a beauty all their own. And although I am the daughter of a farmer it angers me to see these precious areas in grave danger of extinction as industrial size farms are sweeping our area. I am inspired by many things. Relationships, moods, nature and new photography techniques to try always give me a boost in creativity.

  413. Marit Welker on October 23, 2013 at 1:01 pm

I love people and families. Boosting confidence and closeness are most important to me. So, my inspiration is expressing that in posing, makeup and hair with my senior girls, in playing as a family and watching them interact for families, and in just letting kids play and think it is a game. When I can catch that look that is so “them” then I have succeeded. I don’t need pinterest to learn to be like everyone else. I don’t need perfect composition and high art. I need to focus on the faces, relationships and feelings of my clients to get the pictures that capture their hearts. That is my inspiration. this picture edited with MCP mini-fusion.

Seeing her most recent work almost everyday no matter where she’s at in the US she’s inspired me in so many ways! Different angles, software, lenses, editing techniques, taking chances, adding props, styles and pure PASSION and dedication its given me everything I have today and made me the photographer I am and LOVING every minute of it!

My boys are what initially inspired me to do photography. I just didn’t want to miss a moment and I wanted to capture the memories to last a lifetime. I wanted a way to showcase how proud I was of them and my love for them – so I did/do that with my photography. I have created all sorts of ways to display it… my lil’ brag pieces. My passion to capture life’s moments and brag on the super stars in my life has spilled over into other family and friends. Celebrating their gifts, their passions and capturing them in a special way is what inspires me.

Originally what inspired me was just learning photography, and seeing what I could capture. Over the past several years I have found that many times the focus changes, but the constant has been saving a moment or subject to share with others, or just have for my daughter when I am gone. I shoot for me of course, but also for my family and the family I will never meet. <3

In my early years dabling in photography a class mate inspired me to branch out with my photography by supporting and giving me tips. After graduating I continued by getting ideas from music, books and friends. I lived doing shoots with props. I lost my way a few years ago and got discouraged however my husband was able to support me and help me find my way back so now his love and encouragement has inspired me to take the time to learn more and continue photograohy on my terms nobody nobody elses.

A real smile. The kind of smile that lights up their eyes in a way that no Photoshop action or Lightroom preset could ever duplicate… the kind you know will contribute to the deep, beautiful wrinkles on their face when they’re old and gray. 567. Jodie aka mummaducka on October 23, 2013 at 5:52 pm

What most inspires me in my photography is what I am seeing all around me. That may be sunsets and horizons or contrived nature as in my farm animals or my garden when it is flowering and stunning me with shows of flowers. Also what is tucked in my heart inspires me- my children and my pets, along with other people’s children- i photograph everyday school life and special events for our newsletters and magazine for the school where I work. All these things inspire me to get the camera happening and then enhance all the beauty and emotions I have captured with some actions or presets.

Inspiration to me is in the walks I take almost everyday, some in the woods and some next to the river. I try to find things that are different and that I may have not seen before, then I will take a photo of it from a different angle or maybe the backside, some times even upside down. Then at the computer I try to make it even better with some adjustments, they can sure make a difference. So I have one in over 700 chance, good luck to all.

What inspires me about photography is the happiness it brings to your loved ones and also the memories it captures. My heart is in photographing for people less fortunate and also capturing the elderly so that we have a lasting memory … what could be more inspiring than that!

I have taken tens of thousands of pictures, sharing with families of my kids sports teams. As well as photographing the Diocesan basketball tournament. Hearing that family and friends across the U.S. got to see pictures of their loved ones playing ball is the ultimate compliment . Which otherwise would not have had that opportunity.

  760. Janelle on October 24, 2013 at 10:24 pm

What inspires me as a photographer is capturing those moments in people’s lives that are so important, whether it be a newborn, a birthday, wedding, or just updated family photos. To play such an important roll to help record those memories is so important. My clients are an inspiration to me every time and they all bring something new to the table. Every time I shoot I aspire to have the, “You’re pictures brought tears to my eyes” reaction. I feel that is the best compliment a photographer can have, to have your picture move someone to tears. It is why I love doing what I do! XOXO

As a child my mother suffered from mental illness. For most of my childhood I had to help take care of my mother when she checked out of reality. there are very few times I remember her as a real mother. Photos are the only way I hold onto those good times. Her disorder is genetic, I have no signs and may never get ill as she did, BUT I take tons of photos to keep those memories for my kids. I have not yet started a “business” but would love to so that other families can hold on to their memories as well.
