Renowned Japan-based publication, Digital Camera Magazine, is predicting that the A99, A77, and NEX-7 replacements are on the list of new Sony cameras in 2014.

Plenty of photographers say that digital camera manufacturers have had a pretty quiet year in 2013. A lot more has been expected from them, but it seems like the drop in sales is taking its toll and companies are trying to plan their next moves more carefully. Either way, Sony has managed to pull off some interesting stunts, such as the Cyber-shot lens-style cameras: the QX10 and QX100.

Despite these innovations, the company has attracted more attention thanks to its mirrorless shooters with full frame image sensors: the A7 and A7R. Photographers have welcomed these devices because of their large sensors and impressive specifications list packed in a small body.

No matter what has happened during the past 12 months, consumers are expecting more from Sony in 2014.

Sony A99 is allegedly on the list of cameras that the company will replace in 2014 along with the A77 and NEX-7.

A99, A77, and NEX-7 replacements to be the new Sony cameras in 2014, says Digital Camera Magazine

Digital Camera Magazine is a popular Japanese publication which is conducting interviews with representatives from most digital imaging corporations and the PlayStation maker has been among them.

When the interviews are over, the Japan-based magazine unleashes its predictions for the whole world to see. The reason why this is important is because the prophecies have turned out to be accurate most of the times.

Anyway, Digital Camera Magazine’s conclusions say that the photographers will find the A99, A77, and NEX-7 replacements on list of new Sony cameras in 2014.

Sony A99, A77, and NEX-7 cameras have been in the rumor mill for a while now

The A99 and A77 have been rumored to be replaced for quite some time and some specs have even showed up on the web. The same thing can be said about the NEX-7 successor, which has even been touted for a 2013 release date.

Sony’s A-mount shooters are expected to feature similar image sensors, but with a higher number of megapixels, probably bigger than 30-megapixels.

Both will sport high-resolution electronic viewfinders and impressive autofocus technologies with a huge amount of focus points.

On the other hand, the E-mount camera might be a minor improvement of the current model. The maximum ISO sensitivity will reach 25,600, the camera will offer built-in WiFi, and a 24.3-megapixel APS-C sensor with integrated image stabilization.

A decade of FE lenses poised for 2014 launch

As for the lens department, it is believed that the Sony FE-mount (full frame E-mount for A7 and A7R cameras) will be expanded with up to 10 models next year.

There are no focal lengths given, but we will find out everything throughout 2014. Stay tuned and happy holidays to you all!
