CP+ 2014-bound Canon EOS-A1 is actually a high-end APS-C DSLR

CP+ 2014-bound Canon EOS-A1 is actually a high-end APS-C DSLR

Canon EOS-A1 DSLR is rumored to be announced at the CP+ 2014 event as a high-end APS-C camera with a hybrid viewfinder.

The rumors about the flagship Canon EOS APS-C camera have started to become ridiculous. Or should the older rumours be put to blame because they have  turned out to be fake?

We have previously stated that the EOS 7D replacement is one of the most rumored cameras in history. The DSLR could be called 7D Mark II, 8D, or even 7D C, but then it has been said that it may not be considered a successor for the 7D at all.

The problem is that nobody knows for sure what this device is all about and how it will be marketed by Canon. However, the clear thing is that a high-end APS-C camera (that may or may not act as a 7D replacement) will become official at the CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show 2014, says the latest rumor.

Canon to announce high-end APS-C DSLR camera called EOS-A1 at CP+ 2014

Inside sources have even revealed details about what we should be expecting at CP+ 2014. Apparently, the new DSLR will be called EOS-A1. This name has been heard before, but in another context: it should have been a high-end full frame camera.

Regardless of what has been said before, trusted sources are claiming that the new APS-C shooter will be released on the market as a new category of products, which has been designed to provide the “best possible still and video performance”.

Canon EOS-A1 to come packed with a hybrid viewfinder

Fujifilm X-Pro1
Fujifilm X-Pro1 employs a hybrid viewfinder that combines an optical model with an electronic one. The Canon EOS-A1 is said to sport a similar VF.

Canon is not pulling any punches when it comes to video features. The EOS 1D C is a video-optimized 1D X version, which is aiming to bring professional-like movie recording to the DSLR segment.

As a testimony to its video dedication, it seems like the rumored Canon EOS-A1 will feature a hybrid viewfinder, à la Fujifilm X-Pro1.

The X-mount shooter combines the prowess of an optical viewfinder with the advantages of an electronic model, the latter being helpful during movie capturing.

EOS-A1 is the company’s “biggest change in history”

A lot of new technology will be added into the company’s high-end APS-C DSLR, which is reminiscent of the Canon 7D launch. Back in 2009, this device has brought several new features to the table and, as a result, it has won the war against the Nikon D300S.

If the EOS-A1 employs new technologies and actually replaces the EOS 7D, then it will definitely become the company’s “biggest change in history”, as sources have previously suggested.
