Nikon D2300 DSLR and Nikon Coolpix P8000 compact camera are rumored to be unveiled in spring 2014.

Nikon has been rumored to announce a replacement for the Nikon D4 DSLR camera for a long time. The Japanese company has actually officialized the development of this shooter and it has been expected to reveal it on February 11.

Unfortunately for its fans, the manufacturer has not unveiled the Nikon D4S and all we know is that it will come packed with an improved sensor and autofocus system among others.

The development confirmation is not enough for photographers, nor the fact that the flagship FX-format DSLR has been captured on camera at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.

Nikon’s fans want to see the final product and want to learn everything about it. As we are still waiting for the D4S, the rumor mill has begun leaking information about two other shooters.

The Nikon D2300 will allegedly become the world’s tiniest DSLR camera, while the Nikon Coolpix P8000 will replace the Coolpix P7800 in the near future.

Nikon D2300 rumored to become world’s smallest DSLR camera

Highly-reliable sources have received word that Nikon is preparing to take over the world’s smallest DSLR crown from the Canon Rebel SL1 / EOS 100D.

The Nikon D2300 specs says that the camera will weigh only 290 grams, which is less than the weight of a lot of mirrorless shooters.

Furthermore, it might become the first DSLR in the world not to feature an optical viewfinder. It is not specified whether it is packing an electronic model or no viewfinder at all.

Its name has not been set in stone and it could be changed by the time of its launch, which is scheduled for May 2014, so do not place all your money on D2300, yet.

Nikon Coolpix P8000 rumored to replace P7800 and feature 1-inch-type sensor

On the other hand, the premium Nikon Coolpix P7800 might be replaced sometime in April or May this year.

The Nikon Coolpix P8000 is rumored to feature a 1-inch-type image sensor, the first of its series to do so. Meanwhile, the lens will provide a 35mm equivalent of 24-120mm and a maximum aperture of f/2-3.

The internal design of the lens will include a trio of ED (Extra Low-Dispersion) elements and one aspherical glass element.

A 3-inch LCD screen will be placed on the back of the camera and a P/A/S/M mode dial will be found on the top of the shooter. As usual, take this with a pinch of salt and wait for more details before drawing a conclusion.
