Nikon unveils 1 Nikkor VR 70-300mm and 10-30mm PD-Zoom lenses

After introducing the new Nikon 1 V3, the Japan-based camera maker has officially presented two new lenses: the 1 Nikkor VR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 and 1 Nikkor VR 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 PD-Zoom. The former offers the longest telephoto focal length for CX-format cameras, while the latter is a quiet Power Drive Zoom model.

New Sony E-mount full frame cameras coming at Photokina 2014

The Photokina 2014 will open its doors to visitors this September. Numerous manufacturers are rumored to announce new products. One of them is also making PlayStations and according to the rumor mill, at least a couple of new Sony E-mount full frame cameras will be revealed during world’s largest digital imaging event.

Fujifilm XF 85-300mm f/2.7-3.7 lens patent discovered online

The last time Fujifilm has updated its lens roadmap, the Japanese manufacturer has promised that it will bring a super-telephoto zoom optic to the market in late 2014 or early 2015. Curious people have discovered a patent describing a Fujifilm XF 85-300mm f/2.7-3.7 lens, which fits the description as well as the predictions of the rumor mill.

Panasonic-made Leica T Type 701 to be launched on April 24

A special press event is said to have been scheduled by Leica. It will take place on April 24 in Berlin, Germany. According to inside sources, the German manufacturer will reveal a brand new mirrorless camera with an APS-C image sensor. It might be called Leica T Type 701 and it is rumored to be made by Panasonic.

Sigma found guilty of infringing Nikon VR technology patents

Three years have passed since the Tokyo District Court has “found out” that the Nikon VR technology patents may be infringed by Sigma. Judge Shigeru Osuka has finally reached a verdict, claiming that Sigma is indeed infringing Nikon’s VR patents, forcing the company to pay about $14.5 million in compensation to Nikon.

Nikon 1 V3 specs leaked ahead of camera’s imminent arrival

Following recent speculation about a possible CP+ 2014 launch, the rumor mill has leaked a new set of Nikon 1 V3 specs. There is no mention of 4K video recording, but the mirrorless camera will feature an 18-megapixel image sensor. The announcement will take place within days and will include a pair of 1-series zoom lenses.

Canon 7D Mark II announcement date finally getting closer

The Canon 7D Mark II announcement date finds itself on the rumor mill’s front page, as the DSLR camera is rumored to be unveiled during the second quarter of 2014. This spring will finally bring a replacement for the 7D, featuring a hybrid viewfinder, along with an APS-C image sensor of about 25 megapixels.

Sony A77II release date set for June 2014 following May launch

The next Sony A-mount camera announcement will take place in May 2014, sources have revealed. It is said that the Sony A77II will replace the Sony A77 along with a 32-megapixel image sensor and a quick autofocus system. The Sony A77II release date is also mentioned, confirming that the camera will become available this June.

Nikon D800s DSLR camera rumored to be announced by the end of 2014

Nikon is rumored to introduce two new DSLR cameras by the end of the year. One of these products is said to be a refresh for the Nikon D800 and D800E. Sources familiar with the matter are reporting that the Nikon D800s is in the works and it is coming soon with improved low-light capabilities as well as a faster autofocus system.
