Nikon D750 announced with built-in WiFi and 24.3MP FX sensor

Nikon has officially unveiled the D750 for advanced enthusiast and professional photographers, which has become the company’s first full frame DSLR with built-in WiFi.

It has been one of the most popular cameras within the rumor mill during the past weeks. Now, it is finally official and it comes packed with plenty of exciting features. The Nikon D750 is said to have been designed for advanced enthusiasts and seasoned professional photographers and that the wait for this DSLR has been worthwhile.

The new D750 features a 24.3-megapixel full frame CMOS sensor with an anti-aliasing filter. Most of Nikon’s recent DSLRs do not have an AA filter in order to make sure that the cameras are capturing more details and sharper images. However, the presence of an AA filter means that D750 users will not have to worry about moiré patterns.

An EXPEED 4 image processor is powering the shooter, similar to that found in the D810 and D4S, allowing users to capture up to 6.5fps in continuous shooting mode.

Additionally, the D750 borrows the 51-point focus system from the D810 and D4S, which includes 15 cross-type points, with 11 of them being capable of focusing up to f/8.

Another feature borrowed from its bigger siblings consists of the 91,000-pixel RGB sensor. However, the D750 is the first Nikon DSLR which can lock focus even in -3EV lighting conditions.

Nikon D750 is borrowing heavily from the D810 and D4S, but it is also the company’s first full frame DSLR with built-in WiFi and tilting display.

Nikon D750 can brag with many other premieres. It is the company’s first DSLR with a tilting display. The 3.2-inch 1,229K-dot LCD display can be tilted, so that photographers can capture photos or videos from unconventional angles.

The D750 is also the first full frame DSLR in Nikon’s line-up to come packed with built-in WiFi. It will allow users to control their camera remotely from a smartphone or tablet, while supporting seamless file sharing.

The ISO sensitivity has been confirmed to range between 100 and 12,800, but it can be expanded between 50 and 51,200. Moreover, its shutter speed will range between 1/4000-sec to 30 seconds with Bulb mode support.

The Japan-based company has announced that the D750 is getting all of its video features from the D810. This means that it can capture 1920 x 1080 videos at up to 60fps and with full manual control, allowing users to set the aperture, ISO, and shutter speed while recording.

Nikon D750 will become available in late September for a price just short of $2,300.

Nikon will release the D750 at the end of September for a price of $2,299.95, while Amazon has already put the DSLR up for pre-order.

The camera measures 140.5 x 113 x 78mm / 5.6 x 4.5 x 3.1-inches and weighs 750 grams / 26.5 ounces. The body is made out of carbon fiber and magnesium alloy materials with a structure that is resistant to dust and moisture.

This weathersealed DSLR supports a flash X-sync speed of up to 1/200-sec and offers dual SD card slots.
