The price of Zeiss Distagon T* FE 35mm f/1.4 ZA lens is rumored to stand at around €1,399, meaning that it will become the most expensive model out of the four optics whose development status has been confirmed at Photokina 2014.

Sony has introduced two new lenses at the Photokina 2014 event. The FE PZ 28-135mm f/4 G OSS and the Zeiss Vario-Tessar T* FE 16-35mm f/4 ZA OSS have finally become official for E-mount full frame mirrorless cameras.

Nevertheless, the Japan-based company has also confirmed the development of four other optics, which have also been designed for FE-mount cameras. Although they are still weeks or even months away from their official launch, Viktor Pavlovic from VeryBigLobo has managed to find out the price details of these products.

Zeiss FE 35mm f/1.4 ZA lens price could stand at €1,399 / $1,799

One of the most exciting lenses of the pack is the Zeiss Distagon T* FE 35mm f/1.4 ZA. This is a much-needed FE-mount optic and it is probably the most sought-after of the entire series.

Sony is believed to reveal all these four optics before the end of the year and shipping will begin in early 2015.

According to Viktor Pavlovic, the Zeiss FE 35mm f/1.4 ZA lens price will stand at €1,399. This translates into roughly $1,799, but the taxes and subsidies are higher in Europe, so US photographers might actually pay something closer to $1,500 for this optic.

The information does not come from one of Sony’s representatives at Photokina 2014. Instead, it appears to be coming from one of Viktor’s sources, hence it would be wise to take it with a pinch of salt.

Prices of three other FE-mount lenses have also been leaked

The wide-angle area of the FE-mount needs some reinforcements, therefore Sony will also release a FE 28mm f/2 G lens towards the beginning of 2015. This product will allegedly retail for about €499 / $640.

The next in line is the FE 90mm f/2.8 G Macro G OSS lens, which will be perfect for close-up photos. The same source is reporting that the company will sell it for around €999 / $1,280.

A versatile zoom lens is on its way, too, and it will cost around €1,099 / $1,400. We are talking about the FE 24-240mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS, of course.

Finally, the ultra-wide and fisheye converters will retail for around €229 / $299. As stated above, Sony has not confirmed these gossip talks, so do not jump into conclusions for the time being.
