Casio has officially announced the Exilim EX-MR1 compact camera which comes packed with a lens sitting behind a mirror, that can be used for making sure that the selfies will be composed properly.
The selfie-craze continues in Asia, so manufacturers have to give people what they want. Casio has found the perfect solution to make sure that photographers will capture the perfect selfie, which can be shared immediately on the web. That solution is called Exilim EX-MR1 and it consists of a compact camera that features a lens hidden behind a mirror.
Casio Exilim EX-MR1 comes with a mirror in front of the lens for selfie fans
People all around the world are capturing selfies, but this type of photography has almost achieved a cult status across Asia. When there is a huge demand for a product, companies must deliver the goods and, in this case, the Casio Exilim EX-MR1 is the solution.
This compact camera features a mirror on its front allowing users to compose the selfies. The interesting thing is the fact that behind this mirror there is the lens required to capture a photo.
Usually, selfie cameras have smaller mirrors or a secondary screen on the front. However, Casio says that it has developed the right combination between transmissivity and reflectivity, allowing users to see themselves in the mirror, while allowing the lens to see the subjects.
There are people saying that a secondary screen would have been just fine, but it is said that the mirror is cheaper, larger, and different from what you can already find on the Asian market.
Compact camera takes 14-megapixel photos and full HD videos, which can be shared via WiFi
The Casio Exilim EX-MR1 specs list includes a 14-megapixel image sensor and a lens that offers a 35mm equivalent of 21-84mm, courtesy of a 4x optical zoom.
Additionally, the compact camera is capable of recording full HD movies and to capture regular shots, which can be framed and reviewed on a 2.7-inch LCD screen located on its back.
As usual, selfie cameras come packed with multiple modes and effects, meant to make the skin smoother or glossier, depending on one’s preferences.
After you are done with taking photos, you can transfer them to an Android or iOS smartphone or tablet via built-in WiFi. This way, users can easily share the files on their favorite social networking websites.
Casio will release the EX-MR1 only in Asia in multiple colors for an unknown price at this time.
