Canon continues its CES 2014 event with the introduction of the PowerShot SX710 HS and PowerShot SX610 HS, two more compact cameras with integrated WiFi and NFC.
Consumers are expecting to see more connectivity options in their devices. For some reason, not all cameras have built-in WiFi and NFC, so people tend to retort to smartphones for taking photos, instead of using the smartphones for sharing the shots captured with a dedicated camera.
Canon is aiming to “fix” its line-up by putting such features into all of its cameras. The first camera from its CES 2015 line-up with these tools is the PowerShot SX530 HS, which has just been revealed. The next announcements consist of the PowerShot SX710 HS and PowerShot SX610 HS, a couple of similar shooters.

The more powerful of the duo is the Canon PowerShot SX710 HS, which comes packed with a 20.3-megapixel 1/2.3-inch-type CMOS image sensor and a DIGIC 6 image processor.
Furthermore, the shooter features a 30x optical zoom lens that offers a 35mm equivalent of 25-750mm and a maximum aperture of f/3.2-6.9.
As expected, the camera records full HD videos at 60fps, while offering integrated image stabilization. Those who need some creativity options can make use of the Story Highlights, Creative Shot, Short Clip, Fast Motion, Slow Speed, Face ID, and many other tools.
Canon has added WiFi and NFC into the SX710, allowing photographers to share their shots on social networks via a smartphone or tablet. The superzoom compact camera will be released in February for $349.99 only in Black.

The lower-end model employs a similar 20.2-megapixel 1/2.3-inch-type CMOS sensor, but a less powerful DIGIC 4+ processor. Additionally, its 18x zoom lens offers a 35mm equivalent of 24-450mm with a maximum aperture of f/3.8-6.9.
Just like its “stronger” brother, it comes with numerous creative tools as well as a 3-inch 922K-dot LCD screen, Intelligent Image Stabilization technology, WiFi, NFC, and full HD video recording.
Canon PowerShot SX610 HS will become available in February for $249.99 in Black, Red, and White colors.
