Fujifilm X-Pro1 successor poised for late 2015 announcement

One of the most rumored cameras during the past couple of years, the Fujifilm X-Pro2, is now believed to be announced sometime in late 2015.

A lot of ink has been spilled regarding the Fujifilm X-Pro1 successor, which is believed to be called X-Pro2. Some early rumors suggested that the mirrorless camera would be called X-Pro1S, but now it seems like this is no longer the case.

Although it has been quite popular within the rumor mill, the X-Pro2 returns with a highly-trusted source claiming that the shooter will become official at the end of 2015.

Fujifilm X-Pro1 will be replaced at the end of 2015 by the so-called Fujifilm X-Pro2.

Immediately after the conclusion of the Photokina 2014 event, a source has claimed that Fuji will release the X-Pro2 in early 2015. However, the dreams of photographers have been shattered by a more reliable source claiming that the device has been delayed due to the fact that the company is waiting for a brand new sensor.

The wait will be extended until later in 2015, as the Fujifilm X-Pro1 successor is coming at the end of this year, a top source has revealed.

Sources are reporting that the sensor will have a higher megapixel count than 16 megapixels, most insiders agreeing that it will be clocked somewhere around the 24-megapixel mark.

Furthermore, it is worth stating that the mirrorless camera will not employ an organic sensor, meaning that it will capture photos using a regular, non-organic X-Trans sensor.

One more thing worth noting about the sensor is that it will be an APS-C-sized model, just like the ones found in all other X-mount cameras.

Some Fuji X-Pro2 specs have already been leaked on the web

The specs list of the Fujifilm X-Pro2 is believed to include WiFi, allowing photographers to transfer photos to a smartphone or tablet for quick sharing on social networks.

It will become the flagship X-mount camera and will employ a dual SD card slot as well as a tilting display. Its aforementioned flagship status will transpire into its price, which will be up to 30% bigger than the one of the X-T1.
