Samsung NX500 photos, specs, and price leaked online

Samsung is preparing to announce a new mirrorless camera, called, NX500, which will replace the NX300-series sometime in the near future.

After Samsung revealed the NX1 flagship camera at Photokina 2014, the rumor mill began speculating about the future of the NX300-series. Sources have claimed that the NX300 and NX300M will be replaced by two NX400 models, one of them featuring a built-in electronic viewfinder and the other one coming without an EVF.

It appears that the rumors have been false, as the NX300-series will actually be replaced by the so-called Samsung NX500, whose specs and photos have been leaked on the web. Additionally, the device has been listed for pre-order at a known store, albeit just for a brief moment.

Samsung will not replace the NX300 with the NX400. In fact, the NX500 is on its way and sources have managed to leak some photos and specs of the mirrorless camera.

Without further ado, it appears that the Samsung NX500 will borrow some of its traits from the NX1, such as the 28-megapixel BSI APS-C-sized image sensor.

The shooter will be powered by a DRIMe 5s image processor and will employ a new autofocus system based on hybrid technology that combines Phase Detection and Contrast Detection focus points. As a result, the camera will focus in only 55ms.

Its continuous shooting mode of 9fps will allow users to capture photos of high-speed moving objects. Speaking of which, the maximum shutter speed will stand at 1/6000th of a second.

The ISO sensitivity will range between 100 and 25,600, while the highest video recording quality will stand at 2.5K. It is worth noting that the NX1 can record 4K movies.

Samsung NX500 will also feature a 3-inch articulated Super AMOLED touchscreen, which can be used for capturing selfies.

The unannounced Samsung NX500 was listed at B&H PhotoVideo for a price of $799.99 before the store pulled the link.

The leaked photos confirm that the Samsung NX500 will employ a couple of command dials, which will come in handy for photographers who want to access exposure settings quicker and easier.

Another improvement consists of faster WiFi connectivity, allowing users to transfer files to a mobile device a lot faster. In addition, the mirrorless camera comes with built-in Bluetooth and GPS.

The device will be released in Black, White, and Brown colors along with a 16-50mm Power Zoom lens that is available in Black and White colors.

This mirrorless shooter has already been released for pre-order at B&H PhotoVideo for a price of $799.99, including the lens kit. However, the store has quickly caught up on the mistake and the listing is now gone.
