First comes the firmware version 2.0.7 which is aimed at Canon EOS 1D X users. This is not a major update, so it only comes with minor bug fixes and enhancements.

According to the changelog, the firmware will improve autofocus supported in Live View mode when using wide-angle lenses.

The company has also fixed an issue which caused vertical lines to show up on the right edge of long-exposure photos.

Auto Exposure Bracketing now works as intended when using shutter speeds longer than one second in continuous shooting mode.

The mechanism controlling the Picture Style Auto tool is now more reliable, while the electronic level indication is now working properly in all conditions.

The “Save and read camera settings” function used to have an issue when the color space data was not saved in “Custom shooting mode (C1-C3).

Finally, the company has modified some wording in the “English” and “Russian” menus.

Canon 5D Mark III firmware update 1.3.3 comes with only a couple of enhancements

The changelog of the new firmware for the 5D Mark III DSLR camera is not as big as the one for the 1D X. There are only a couple of changes mentioned, which may not affect most users.

The company says that it has fixed how autofocus behaves when using the DSLR’s Live View mode while shooting with a wide-angle lens.

The second change consists of some “English” and “Russian” menu changes to better indicate what is on the menu.

As you can see, both of of these improvements have been applied to the 1D X, too.

The Canon 5D Mark III firmware update 1.3. is available for download at its official support page.
