Canon is allegedly working on a new L-designed lens for full frame DSLR cameras. However, instead of being a zoom model, like the new 11-24mm f/4 USM, the upcoming product will be a prime optic. The most likely model to show up is rumored to consist of the sought-after Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM lens.
Sony FE 24-240mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS lens becomes official
Sony has one more announcement for FE-mount mirrorless camera users to make: an all-in-one zoom lens. The new Sony FE 24-240mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS lens was already previewed at Photokina 2014, but the company is just now ready to release it on the market. This optic is coming by the end of March with an affordable price tag!
Three new Sony prime lenses unveiled for FE-mount cameras
Sony has expanded its FE-mount lens line-up with the introduction of three new prime lenses and a couple of converters. In addition to the FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS, FE 28mm f/2, and the Zeiss Distagon T* FE 35mm f/1.4 ZA lenses and two FE converters, the company has also revealed two converters for E-mount lenses.
Fuji X-Pro2 rumored to come with 4K video support
A Fujifilm manager has revealed in an interview that the future X-mount cameras will come packed with higher-resolution X-Trans sensors and with improved videography features. Meanwhile, an unnamed source is claiming that the Fuji X-Pro2 mirrorless camera will be capable of recording videos at 4K resolution.
Panasonic Lumix GX8 release date to take place in May
Panasonic is allegedly on the verge of announcing a replacement to the Lumix GX7 mirrorless camera with a Micro Four Thirds sensor. The new shooter will be announced soon and will become available this spring. According to an insider, the Panasonic Lumix GX8 release date is scheduled to take place sometime in May 2015.
