Fujifilm will allegedly announce the X-Pro2 in September 2015, while the mirrorless camera is expected to be released on the market in October 2015.

After the launch of the Canon 7D Mark II and the big-megapixel EOS DSLRs, the most rumored camera of the rumor mill has become the Fujifilm X-Pro2.

A lot of gossips about this device have circulated on the web and they will stop only when the shooter becomes official.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that the X-Pro1 replacement would be introduced towards the end of 2015. A couple of more sources have jumped on the bandwagon in order to reveal similar details. One of them is claiming that the X-Pro2 will be unveiled this September, while the other source says that the flagship X-mount camera will become available this October.

Fujifilm X-Pro1 will be replaced by the X-Pro2 in September, as the upcoming flagship X-mount camera is expected to be released in October.

Fujifilm X-Pro2 launch event to take place this September

If the first X-Pro2 rumors were to become true, then the X-Pro1 successor would have been released in early 2014 or mid-2014 or Photokina 2014. After missing these deadlines, the mirrorless camera should have been launched in early 2015. This will not happen, as a trusted source has already said that the device is set for a late 2015 launch.

Two more sources are backing up this information. Photographer Tom Grill says that the newer X-Pro2 will succeed the X-Pro1 in September 2015, after hearing this tidbit from a person familiar to Fuji’s plans.

The other source is a SLRClub user, named Daniel Son, who talked to a Fuji representative at the WPPI 2015 event. The show took place in Las Vegas between late February 2015 and early March 2015. One of the company’s reps has invited the photographer to switch to the X-mount through the X-T1 or to wait for the X-Pro1 replacement, which will be released in October 2015.

The new information regarding the Fujifilm X-Pro2 launch and release dates is consistent with previous details, so you should not expect the X-mount mirrorless camera to drop any sooner than fall 2015.

Fujifilm X-Pro2 specs round-up

The upcoming flagship X-mount camera is rumored to feature a brand new 24-megapixel APS-C sensor powered by a new EXR III image processor.

This mirrorless camera is said to be capable of recording videos at 4K resolution and to come packed with integrated WiFi and a couple of D card slots.

Photos and videos will be framed using a touchscreen, that will be tiltable, and a hybrid viewfinder, that combines both electronic and optical parts.

It is worth reminding that these are all rumors, which means that you should still take the leaked details with a grain of salt.
