Casio has officially unveiled a couple of compact cameras, called Exilim EX-ZR3000 and Exilim EX-ZR60, which come packed with a flip-up display aimed at selfie enthusiasts.

Selfies are popular all over the world, but this type of photography is most revered in Asia, in countries such as Japan and China. One of the companies that focuses on launching compact cameras for selfie fanatics is Casio and the manufacturer has just introduced a couple of these devices in Japan.

The new Casio Exilim EX-ZR3000 and EX-ZR60 are official with zoom lenses as well as WiFi and Bluetooth technologies for connecting to a mobile device with ease. Moreover, selfie fans will appreciate the existence of a tiltable display and a front-facing shutter button.

Casio Exilim EX-ZR60 compact camera features a 10x zoom lens offering a 35mm equivalent of 25-250mm.

Casio Exilim EX-ZR60 offers 16.1 megapixels in a small, compact body

Both Casio-branded compacts are entry-level shooters, but the lower-end version is the Exilim EX-ZR60. This model employs a 16.1-megapixel 1/2.3-inch-type BSI CMOS image sensor along with a 10x zoom lens that provides a 35mm focal length equivalent of 25-250mm.

The specs list of the Casio EX-ZR60 continues with a maximum aperture of f/3.5-6.5 and with a shutter speed range between 4 seconds and 1/4000s as well as an ISO range between 80 and 3,200.

This compact camera will become available as of August 28 in Japan in green, white, and pink colors. Availability in other markets remains unknown for now.

On the other hand, the Casio EX-ZR3000 features a 12.1-megapixel 1/1.7-inch-type BSI CMOS sensor that is capable of capturing photos in RAW format. Its 12x optical zoom lens offers a 35mm focal length equivalent of 25-300mm and a maximum aperture of f/2.8-6.3.

The ISO sensitivity range is more extended in the Exilim EX-ZR3000, as this compact offers values ranging from 80 to 6,400. The shutter speed range is also larger by providing settings from 30 seconds to 1/20000th of a second in manual mode.

The company will release the EX-ZR3000 on July 31 in Japan in black and white colors. Just like its sibling, it remains to be seen whether it is coming to other countries or not.

What these cameras have in common: WiFi, Bluetooth, tilting screen, and more

These two compact cameras have a lot of specifications in common. Casio Exilim EX-ZR3000 and EX-ZR60 feature a 3-inch 921,600-dot LCD screen that can be tilted up by 180 degrees for capturing selfies.

Moreover, the shooters have a secondary shutter button placed on the front side. This way, users will find it easier to capture a selfie. After capturing them, users can transfer the selfies to a smartphone or table via WiFi or Bluetooth connectivity options.

Both units have a three-stage lens-shift image stabilization technology to correct camera shakes. Another interesting tool is called HS Night Shot and it allows users to capture photos at ISO 25,600 in low-light conditions.

Finally, it is worth noting that the EX-ZR3000 and EX-ZR60 can record videos up to full HD resolution. High-speed movies are supported at a resolution of 224 x 64 pixels and an impressive frame rate of 1,000fps.
