Canon is now rumored to announce the EOS 6D Mark II DSLR camera sometime by the end of 2015, contrary to popular belief that it is coming out later in 2016.

The gossip mill has been filled with rumors about the Canon 1D X Mark II and 5DX (5D Mark II replacement) in recent weeks. The 6D Mark II has received some mentions, too, but the aforementioned duo is poised to become official by the end of 2015 and to be released in early 2016, whereas the 6D successor will be unveiled and released well into 2016.

Well, things change quickly in the rumor mill and it seems like all three DSLRs might become official this year after all. A trusted source is now mentioning a future advertorial in a UK-based magazine, regarding a promo campaign for future EOS shooters.

The source is reporting that the campaign will go live in 2015 in an EOS-related magazine and that it notes something like “6D Mark 2 day out”. This suggests that the Canon 6D Mark II will be out when the campaign begins.

Canon may reveal as well as launch the EOS 6D replacement by the end of 2015.

Canon may announce the EOS 6D Mark II in 2015, too

This is one of the most surprising rumors to recently appear on the web. Few people were expecting the Canon 6D Mark II to show up in an official manner in 2015, but it looks like it is happening. The Japan-based company may actually launch the DSLR this year and we know this thanks to an alleged article in a photography magazine based in the UK.

When a product becomes official, it gets pushed everywhere. One place where it will show up is an EOS-related magazine in the UK that will talk about the DSLR and about the fact that photographers can buy it at the time when the magazine is available on the market.

The issue of the magazine will be released in 2015 and there is no point in telling readers to buy the Canon 6D Mark II if the camera is not actually out. As a result, there is a strong chance that the DSLR will become available on the market by the end of this year.

First comes the 1D X Mark II, then the 5DX, and only then the 6D Mark II

The source is noting that the 1D X Mark II will be the first to be announced, while stating that this could happen “soon”.

After the flagship model, Canon will reveal the 5DX and it will have 4K video recording as well as other interesting features.

Finally, the 6D Mark II will show up, too, and it will come packed with built-in WiFi as well as higher-end specs than its predecessor.

Anyway, take these gossips with a grain of salt and stay around for more!
