One company which does not find its way into the rumor mill so often is Adobe. However, there was a lot of speculation about the company during the beginning of 2015, thanks to the imminent launch of the Lightroom 6 software.

The image-processing program was supposed to become available on March 9, but it seems like its launch has been postponed until March 25. Until the event, the company is focusing on other projects. Both the Camera RAW 8.8 and the DNG Converter 8.8 updates are available for download right now for Photoshop CC / CS6 users and Lightroom / Photoshop CS5 or older, respectively.

The Adobe Camera RAW 8.8 and the DNG Converter 8.8 updates come packed with support for new cameras and lens profiles. Here are the newly-supported shooters in Photoshop CC and CS6:

  • Canon EOS 750D / Rebel T6i / Kiss X8i;
  • Canon EOS 760D / Rebel T6s / Kiss 8000D;
  • Nikon D5500;
  • Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II;
  • Fujifilm X-A2;
  • Fujifilm XQ2;
  • Panasonic Lumix GF7;
  • Panasonic Lumix ZS50 / TZ70 / TZ71;
  • Casio EX-ZR3500;
  • Hasselblad Stellar II.

It is worth noting that photographers using Photoshop CS5 or older version should install the DNG Converter 8.8 update in order to support the aforementioned cameras.

More than 40 lens profiles added into Adobe Camera RAW 8.8 and DNG Converter 8.8

Adobe has decided to add support for a few tens of lenses in Camera RAW 8.8 and DNG Converter 8.8. The list includes the new Sony FE-mount optics as well as a bunch of Voigtlander lenses among others.

The Mitakon Speedmaster 50mm f/0.95 PRO lens is supported as well along with the Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD and the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art optics.

Canon and Nikon products are on the list, too, with lenses such as the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM and the AF-S Nikkor 300mm f/4E PF ED VR, respectively.
