Here is a similar but not matching shot to last Friday’s “Blueprint.” I wanted to show you how you can take similar lighting and transform the photo with a different mode and look. Which you prefer will depend largely on your style and taste. I am more a “color gal” so I prefer the one with vibrant color over the after here. But for those who like a more monocromatic look, you may like knowing how this was done. Out of curiousity, which do you prefer?

I’m a color girl, too. B&Ws are beautiful, but a clear, vibrant pop of color gets me every time!
Wow..he looks like Edward from the Twilight movie…LOL. Love the conversion.
I like this one but I have to say I love the colour one better in your previous post 🙂
I like both. The color version definitely pops but there is a nice intensity in this monochromatic pic–more of a mood, I think. Believe it or not, the dress seems to pop more in the mono vs. the original to my eye. TFS! 😀
i dig the ‘after’ one.
I’m usually a color fan but with the desert setting this latest conversion looks REALLY nice — like a modern western! Thanks SO much for the process information!
I love lots of vibrant color but I love the classic look of monochrome or black and white too. Though I do get more of a “fun” feeling from colored photos, and I tend to get more serious emotion from black and white. Both works for me! For this set, I like the “after” better, but I like the vibrant color you did previously the best out of the three.
i adore the choc one!
This one is definitely more my style!
I LOVE this one, but I think I definitely LOVE the color pop you did before better!!
I like color too, but in this series I like the second one better. Very pretty picture.
I am a “Color Girl” too. However, in the instance above, your take on the Monocromatic has me won over to the other side on this one. 🙂 Love everything about the new image! Great Job… I plan to use this blueprint on some of my stuff!
I would say, it dpends, on some photos, I like the “pop of color. On others I look for the detail Monocromatic gives. Nice crisp image.
Jodi~Amazing thing learned! I LOVE The effect of changing the radial layer to hard light, I LOVE IT! Thanks so much for the share 🙂 YOU ROCK!
