Have you noticed that you are not seeing our posts in your news feed on Facebook?  Likewise, have you realized your customers and even friends are no longer seeing yours?  If so, you have experienced “Edgerank.” AKA the Facebook algorithm that determines how many will see your post as well as who.

Social networking is trial and error.  Lately, Facebook has throttled businesses from showing consistently in the news feed of “likers.” Though a perfect solution is unclear, here is a work around.  If you like us on Facebook, or subscribe to my personal feed, but wonder where we have been lately, it means you have been a victim.  Please follow the steps in the graphic above so you can see our posts again by building a custom feed.

Click “share” and “pin” this so your followers, fans and likers can see you again in their feeds too.

I have to believe this is due to the fact that Facebook is becoming less personal and more business related, which I guess would ultimately make users interact less as a whole, in the eyes of Facebook.Much the same as what happened to eBay. Once businesses became the prime sellers on eBay, it was pretty much down hill from there, or at least a totally different experience than people were used to.

I like your blog on this subject, however, I don’t see any details on how to add these on Facebook. I am new to all this blogging and using feeds. Can you direct me where to get more info on this matter or how to set it up?Thank you,Bill Wiley

Very helpful! I just learned this the other day and it was just what I was looking for!

I have tried following the steps but am having a lot of trouble locating the more button. Am I doing something wrong?

I tried to find to more button too, but am unable to locate it. I was looking at my sister’s page and she had it on hers. The only thing that I can think of is that my page hasn’t been converted to the new timeline format yet. So maybe that is why we can’t see it?

Thanks! I wondered what happened to all the interesting things I used to get on my Newsfeed!

The more button is there, but no add interests button. 🙁

Some are seeing something different than what I do – not sure why everyone would not have the add interests text to click. Try looking on your business page if you have one in the spot I showed for that too…

This is so helpful. I stumbled upon this myself because I wondered why I wasn’t receiving regular postings in my news feed, so I went back into MCP fb page and figured this out. Now I have an interest page I titled “Photography” and everything is coming up. Definitely do this if you want to know what is going on in MCP and time is passing with no word. It works.
