Looks I didn’t read right: I love the RAW capacity. I currently have a t1i and mr UPS is delivering a 5dmii today (SQUEEL!) and for a point and shoot, I use my android phone. I have a cheapie p&s also, but it gives me pretty poor results, so mostly I just use my phone because it’s convenient. I “Like” MCP on FB.

I currently use a Nikon D700. I love it, but sometimes I don’t love hauling it around. I have been a fan of MCP actions for a while now. 1. The vari-angle lens might be my favorite feature. If I’m using a p&s I probably want to turn it around and take a shot of me and my kids. A previous canon camera of mine had that and it was more useful than you’d think.2. Currently I use a Canon T1i and a a Panasonic waterproof p&s for the beach or sledding.3. Of course I like MCP on fb!

  58. Amber on November 30, 2011 at 9:17 am

Having the “manual” shooting mode and the great shutter speed range are , perhaps, the best features I can relate to this camera added to the RAW format since this allows me a wider range of control for artistic purposes. Currently I use 2x Canon 5D SLR as my main battle horses and 1x 7D as backup. I don’t have a P&S yet but looking at this model I think this status will change soon. MCP Actions are totally Awesome! I use them frequently during my editing process that’s why I totally “like” and follow their Facebook page.

1.Please visit the Canon G12 product page by clicking HERE, then come back and let us know what feature of these camera is most of interest/important to you?I love the fact that you don’t have to lug the lenses with you. I also like to snorkel, so having an underwater housing will be fun. (Of course, I will buy it.) Shooting RAW in a P&S is not something I have ever had the opportunity to do. Those were just the first things that popped into my head as I read through the specs. 2.What SLR or Point and Shoot camera(s) do you use now? Right now, I have a Canon Rebel film camera that I received as a gift in 1994. I also own a 20D with various lenses including a 85mm prime. However, under the tree is a brand new 60D that I cannot wait to use!!! I am a Canon fan.3.Confirm that you “like” MCP Actions on Facebook “ñ if you do not confirm this, your entry will NOT count (go here to “like us” if you have not prior) I will double check but this is a no-brainer. I do not currently own a camera but i would love to win this so i would be able to put action behind my love for photography. and i do like MCP on facebook heres the url to prove it (http://www.facebook.com/mcpfans) thanks!

I like the option of having the view finder as well as preview on the screen. I definitely head for the view finder first but it’s nice to have the screen for difficult shots! The on board effects option is a nice feature too!

I Love that it is compact, and has the ability to shoot the way I love to shoot! I have bought a small compact camera in the past, and wasn’t happy with it, so I still lug my canon 7d with lenses around that I use for my sessions, but I have 5 kids, and I want to still get great pics of them, and sometimes hesitate to bring my camera with me on occasions, because it’s big, and I fear I might damage it. Video would be an added bonus as well.

  106. Annie J on November 30, 2011 at 9:27 am

Since I love to do a lot of close-up shots, The Hybrid IS feature of the G12 is my favorite feature. Currently I have a Nikkon Coolpics as a P&S, but I also have a Canon Rebel XT which I adore!

I love point and shoots for quick captures when i don’t want to lug my camera bag. This camera would be a great benefit with the video feature and anti-shaking technology. My primary camera is a Nikon D200, my point and shoot is a Sony Cybershot. And, of course, I ‘Like’ MCP Actions on Facebook. 117. Avis on November 30, 2011 at 9:30 am

I like that the G12 shoots raw and HD video, I love the flip out screen and that I can shoot manual. This is a great camera to put in your purse for those times you don’t want to carry the DSLR. I currently have a Canon 7D and it gets pretty heavy, and my little Kodak point n shoot really leaves a lot to be desired. I have liked MCP on facebook for as long as I have had an account 🙂 I have most of your actions and I follow your blog regularly. I would love to win this camera thanks for the opportunity to enter!!

    1. I love the simplicity of the camera’s look. I’m used to carrying around bulky cameras, which don’t get me wrong I adore, but it would be nice to be able to have a great camera that has the ability to take great pictures without the extra weight2. Currently have a Nikon d60. My first camera was a canon and I loved the macro zoom capability on that camera a lot more than my nikon3. I’ve “liked” your FB page for a bit now! Always reading the updates (hence this camera contest)

  177. Christina Ramirez on November 30, 2011 at 9:51 am

What an amazing camera! It’s hard to narrow it down to just one feature, so I will say I am most interested in the ability to shoot in low light as the standard features of a dSLR (aperture, shutter speed, RAW, ISO). It would be perfect for my husband, who is beginning to gain more interest in photography, to learn. (Since he’s not allowed to touch my 60D, lol)Currently my point and shoot was stolen, (sad day, believe me). But I did have a Canon Powershot ELPH 310. It was a great camera, but is not that great in low light or night situations.I have “liked” / been a fan of your Facebook page for quite some time now and have passed this along to some other photographer friends! 🙂 *crossing my fingers*

One of the best features on the Canon G12 in my opinion is the 720p HD video! It would be awesome to not have to carry around my video camera and digital camera to capture special moments with my family. I am currently using my old Cannon Rebel XT. It’s time for an upgrade! I’m sharing this with my sisters who are also into photography and on facebook with my friends!

I’ve been looking at this camera as an upgrade to my current P&S. I love that it has the abilities of a DSLR yet the convenience of a P&S! The hd video would be awesome as well! I “liked” Adorama long before this blog. ;). I’ll be sure to pass this blog along to my bloggers!

Oh…my current P&S is a Sony…and I should have stayed with Canon when purchasing it.

Being able to shoot in low light situations is important to me, so probably this feature is the most attractive:10.0 Megapixel CCD sensor combined with the DIGIC 4 Image Processor creates Canon’s HS SYSTEM for improved low light performance and better image quality.I currently shoot with a Nikon D700 (which I love!), but it would be great to have something smaller (whether the canon or nikon) for times that I don’t want to or can’t bring a big camera. And yes I already Like MCP Actions on Facebook – really appreciate all the articles you post! So helpful!

Wow! I’d love to win this camera. I’ve really been wanting a P&S camera to carry with me when it’s not practical to have my Canon 60D and lenses with me. This is the perfect size for my pockets or purse. I love the fact that it has a screen that moves around, can shoot in RAW (just learning to use this), and has so many manual features. The new features of the G12 – the flip out/angled LCD screen and HDR capabilities – can’t image what else they could do to make this camera any better! Oh yay, I need a new P&S!! The most important thing about this camera for me is PORTABILITY! Followed closely by the ability to shoot M/Raw. Right now, I use a Nikon D5000. I like it, but it certainly is a pain to bring anywhere. (I don’t know if the Nikon Coolpix would be a better p&s for me…? 309. Elaine Howe on November 30, 2011 at 10:35 am

This point and shoot seems to have it all. I love the lens focal length (28-140mm 35m equivalent) the fast 2.8 aperture at wide angle, raw capable, strong built in flash, hd video, high dynamic range capable, and it’s beautiful that you can take the ISO down to 80.I currently use a nikon d7000 and fuji s5 pro. I owned a cannon point and shoot that I gave to a family that needed a camera. I really miss it. SLR’s are great but there are times a smaller camera (especially one with all of these features) is so convenient.I LOVE YOU ON FACEBOOK 🙂

I have a Nikon D80 with a 18-200 VR and a 50mm 1.4, but I have a canon elph 750 p&s… it’s a few years old, but has been put the ringer and still shoots beautiful pics. 1.) No way I can narrow it down to one thing I like about the Canon G12. I had a G6 when I first got back into photography but sold it to help fund my purchase of a Rebel XTi. I really miss that G6 so a G12 would be fantastic. The main features I love about the G12. First, there’s the larger sensor that is huge improvement over the typical p & s camera. Second, there’s the hot shoe so I can use a more powerful flash. Finally, it has complete manual control and shoots RAW. What a great combination!2.) I currently have a Canon 7D, Canon Rebel XTi, and a Canon Powershot SD1300IS (that I will gladly get rid of if I get a G12!)3.) I like MCP Actions on facebook and I like Adorama on facebook.

  322. Morgan on November 30, 2011 at 10:47 am

I think I’m most interested in the video capability. I don’t shoot much video now, but with a newborn I expect I’ll have lots more opportunity to do so!Right now, I use my Olympus E-420 and my iPhone 3GS for all my picture-taking.Yep, I like MCP on Facebook. That’s how I found out about this!

  323. Kim Maxwell on November 30, 2011 at 10:47 am

    1) I prefer the G12. I like the full swivel LCD the best, but the dial controls, the hot shoe and viewfinder are important to me too.2) I have a bridge Panasonic FZ100 and a Samsung P&S.3) yep, like emand extra I like adorama too!

We are a Canon family. Due to medical issues, my hands shake a lot so image stabilization is very important to me. I also love all the shooting modes. I find the images to come out cleaner when using the correct setting. We have a Canon Rebel T2i, Rebel XT, and our teens have the Canon Power Shot D10 which takes amazing underwater pictures. Our other daughter’s camera(Canon Elph) has recently died due to a lens error and was much loved. She would love to have the G12 as an upgrade.Being a fan of MCP actions on Facebook is how I found out about this giveaway. Thanks!!

I want and need this camera! I was using a G10 but I had to give it to my husband to use when his point & shoot took a dive. It wasn’t easy to give it up either. It’s is by far the best point & shoot camera without a doubt. I ride motorcycles and that is the camera that always went with me everywhere. I think what I would like the best is the flip out screen. First of all, I’ve done a TON of research on the best point and shoot camera, so I already have had my eyes on this camera (just not the budget to purchase) so the fact that you are giving one away is so awesome!!! My favorite part of this camera is everything… especially the wide aperture capabilities. I shoot with a 5D Mark II, but would love a great point and shoot to carry on the go! By the way, I’m a fan on FB now! 🙂 Thanks for the opportunity!

I like the level of control that you have on this camera. I have a daughter that is just beginning to explore photography. My DSLRs are a bit big and intimidating for her, but I still want her to be able to learn about how aperture, shutter speed and film speed effect the photos that she takes. I don’t want get her just any point and shoot, but she is just not ready for a DSLR. This camera is perfect.

    1. There are a lot of great features on the G12, but I feel that fact that it is a noiseless shutter is perfect for what I do. Shooting a lot of PGA Tour and golf I would love to shoot on the backswing, but am unable to with the dSLRs I have right now unless using a camera blimp and thats too bulky to walk around the course with. Am a Nikon shooter but would be more than happy to get the G12, been looking at it for a while.2. Currently work with the Nikon D3s, D700 and D300 series cameras. 3. 1. I would REALLY love one of theses little cameras. I like that I can shoot raw, adjust my settings better than smaller p&s and have a good high end P&S and not have to drag my primes lenses around with me. I’m picking and won’t shoot with a P&S so either my big camera goes or no camera goes. This would solve all my problems with trips etc because I know I could shoot and still love the images…and the ability to edit them..raw! 2. I shoot with a Canon 5D3. I, of course, LIKE MCP…not sure if I have to post on your page to confirm or if saying it here is good enough! Thanks for this awesome giveaway Jodi and my fingers are crossed tight on this one! 🙂

    1. I love the versatility in a small package. My husband would prefer if I didn’t haul camera gear everywhere, all of the time. This would allow me to downsize on some days. I love the hot shoe, I could trigger off camera flashes with my radiopoppers… PLUS, I feel that it’s a camera of enough quality that I could use it as a last resort, “For some reasons BOTH of my DSLR bodies shelled out at the same time and I still need to photograph the rest of this wedding…” Dear lord, I hope that never happens. A person would have to get creative and perhaps McGyver a few things… But, I think it’d be possible.2. I have two Canon 40Ds, a Canon PowerShotA470 that’s my current P&S… And I find myself using my Ipod touch for snapshots quite often.3. I liked MCP on facbook and look forward to learning more about your business!

Please visit the Canon G12 product page by clicking HERE, then come back and let us know what feature of these camera is most of interest/important to you?I think the improved sensor and low light capabilities are my favorite. I love natural light photography. (Though a flash is sometimes necessary.) I also like the improved screen. I had a G9 for a few days, but when I went to view the pictures on the screen, I was not impressed. However, the pics came out great on my computer. What SLR or Point and Shoot camera(s) do you use now?I love my E-P3 by Olympus. It’s beautiful and flexible. However, I would love to have a professional style P&S to share with my girlfriend. That was she can join me (and stop using her garbage current P&S from 5 years ago)”Liked!” Just saw the Presets. Will be downloading ASAP!
