Canon is once again rumored to add 4K video capabilities to the EOS 5D Mark IV, a DSLR camera that should serve as an EOS 5D Mark III replacement sometime in 2015.

The final Canon EOS DSLR of 2014 may be the 7D Mark II. The heir to the flagship APS-C throne will replace the EOS 7D in September 2014 and will be present at the Photokina 2014, says that rumor mill.

By the looks of it, 2015 will be far more exciting for Canon fans, as the Japanese company is preparing to launch at least two new full frame cameras. The high-end EOS 1D C will be substituted along with the EOS 5D Mark III.

Canon 5D Mark IV is said to be the name of the latter’s successor. The camera has been mentioned a couple of times before and now it appears that things are getting serious. A source is reporting that the DSLR will indeed feature 4K video recording, as previously rumored.

Canon 5D Mark III is rumored to be replaced by the 5D Mark IV in early 2015. The new DSLR camera is also said to support 4K video recording.

More and more sources are claiming that Canon will announce its response to the Nikon D810 sometime in 2015. Furthermore, all of them are not hesitant in agreeing that the DSLR will capture videos at 4K resolution, specifically at 4096 x 2160 pixels.

This fact would further iterate Canon’s focus on providing impressive videography features to its customers. Surely, the Nikon D810 comes with a lot of improvements for the video users, but it does not support 4K resolution.

Videographers will surely be enticed by the prospect of recording 4K movies with their Canon 5D Mark IV, so there are voices suggesting that the manufacturer should do everything in its power to make this dream come true.

Canon 5D Mark III price recently went down a bit

For the time being, the Canon 5D Mark III is doing really good in sales numbers. The DSLR camera can even be purchased with a $200 discount (in the form of a rebate) at Amazon, meaning that it can be yours for only a dollar under $3,200.

At this price you are getting a 22.1-megapixel sensor, DIGIC 5+ image processor, maximum ISO of 102,400 (using built-in settings), 61-point autofocus system, built-in optical viewfinder, dual card slots, and a 3.2-inch LCD screen on the back.

Getting back to the Canon 5D Mark IV, grab a large grain of salt and stay tuned for more information!
