Canon 7D Mark II “test” camera specs revealed

The specifications of the rumored Canon 7D Mark II DSLR camera have been leaked on the web by an inside source.

Sources familiar with the matter have revealed more information about the Canon 7D replacement. The upcoming camera is rumored to be called EOS 7D Mark II and to make an official appearance by the end of 2013.

The most likely announcement date of the shooter is early fall, but there is still a long way to go and Canon is usually sending invitations to the press a few days prior to an event.

Canon will soon replace the 7D with the EOS 7D Mark II, a DSLR camera which will feature a 21MP sensor, GPS, WiFi, and a broad ISO range.

However, the grapevine constantly delivers secret information. The latest details consist of the specs list of the Canon 7D Mark II. The source claims that the intel comes from a person who has been using a “test” camera for quite a while.

Without further introduction, the Canon 7D Mark II test DSLR features a new 21-megapixel APS-C image sensor, full HD video recording with manual controls, 60 frames per second and a still burst mode, a continuous shooting mode of up to 10 frames per second, and a single slot for an SD card.

Built-in GPS and WiFi mentioned once again

The specs sheet also includes a 3.2-inch LCD screen, 100% optical viewfinder coverage, GPS and WiFi functionality, a new 19-point AF system, on-chip phase detection for live view mode and AF tracking, and an alloy-based design, which provides improved “weather sealing” when compared to the 7D camera.

It appears that the DSLR camera will come packed with an ISO sensitivity range between 100 and 25,600, which can be expanded to 50 and 102,400 respectively.

Previously, the EOS 7D Mark II has been rumored to come packed with an integrated grip, in order to provide more space for a bigger battery.

At this point, there are no mentions of the DIGIC 6 image processor introduced with the launch of the Canon PowerShot SX280 HS and SX270 HS cameras.
