Highly-trusted sources have repeatedly said that this is Canon’s “year of the lenses”. However, the company has only unveiled three models so far, one for each of company’s current mounts.

The EF 16-35mm f/4L IS lens has been introduced for full frame EOS cameras, while the EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM optic has been launched for EOS DSLRs with APS-C-sized image sensors.

The third model is the EF-M 55-200mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM lens, which is aimed at EOS M mirrorless cameras.

Many more units are expected soon, including a new EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS optic that should be revealed before the Photokina 2014 along with the 7D Mark II.

Meanwhile, it appears that some Canon L optics will have their prices decreased as of September 1. As usual, take these details with a pinch of salt and stick with us to find out the news as it happens!
