Canon is expected to announce multiple new lenses at Photokina 2014. Ahead of this huge event, the specs and photos of two optics have been leaked on the web.

This is a good time to be an EOS camera user because Canon is planning to introduce a slew of new lenses. The list includes the EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM, EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM, and EF 400mm f/4 DO IS II USM.

In the meantime, the latter two have had their photos leaked along with their specifications. The official announcements will most likely occur at Photokina 2014 and will definitely include the recently-leaked EOS 7D Mark II.

The Canon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens will serve as a complementary model to the EF 24-105mm f/4L. The new version will not provide a constant maximum aperture throughout the zoom range, nor will it have L-designation, which means that the image quality will not be among the highest possible.

This lens could become the kit model for the Canon 6D, just like the aforementioned EF 24-105mm f/4L.

According to a very trusted source, the optic includes one Ultra Low Dispersion (UD) element and a couple of aspherical elements. It supports autofocus, courtesy of the Stepping Motor, that should be smooth and quiet.

The integrated image stabilization technology is said to offer 4 f-stops of compensation, while the magnification rate stands at 0.3x.

The second leaked model is the Canon EF 400mm f/4 DO IS USM II lens. This telephoto optic will measure 237.2mm in length, while weighing about 2,100 grams.

It comes with third-generation Diffractive Optics technology, that includes a DO element. Such glass element neutralizes chromatic aberration and will ensure that the lens provides a very high image quality.

The internal construction also includes an aspherical element and an Ultra Low Dispersion one. The whole lens is covered in SWC, a coating that reduces ghosting and flare, hence increasing the image quality.

Sources are claiming that the lens is resistant to water and dust, so photographers will not have to be afraid to take it out into the wild. Additionally, a 4-stop image stabilization system will compensate for camera shakes.

Canon will reveal these lenses and many other products within the next few days, so stick with us for a while!
