Featured Products

Canon is rumored to be testing an EF 35mm f/1.4L II lens, which should become available in early 2014 to compete against the rising sales of the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG optic.

This year Canon might refresh slew of lenses and announce several new ones. The most recent rumor involved a pair of wide-angle zoom lenses, the 16-50mm f/4L IS and the 14-24mm f/2.8L. These two might become available sometime in the next six to eight months.

Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L lens might be replaced by the new EF 35mm f/1.4L II optic, as the company is looking to add fresh blood into its system, following the increase in sales of the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM lens.

The aforementioned pair might be joined by another lens, the EF 35mm f/1.4L II, which is rumored to be announced sometime in the following months.

The Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II lens will work with both EF and EF-S cameras, but the product will be aimed at full frame cameras, where the company is facing serious competition from the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG.

Sigma products are receiving better reviews and sales appear to be increasing. The 35mm f/1.4 version has been designed exclusively for full frame shooters and gossip talks say that Canon is no longer happy with its competitor’s recent emergence.

Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II lens not coming this year because big megapixel full frame camera keeps getting delayed

Sources say that the Japanese company is testing the EF 35mm f/1.4L II glass, but it is in no hurry to release the product. The reason consists of Canon’s delay of a new full frame camera.

The big megapixel shooter is not coming and Canon still does not have a D800 competitor. Since no FF devices are coming this year, people familiar with the matter claim that the manufacturer does not have any reasons to launch the EF 35mm f/1.4L II.

An alleged Canon EOS 3D camera has been spotted somewhere in China, though it is unclear whether the device is real or not and its 2013 launch is in doubt.

Amazon is selling the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L USM lens for a price of $1,329, just like Adorama, which is offering it at the same price. Meanwhile, the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM costs $899 at both Amazon and Adorama.
