Canon has introduced three new camcorders at the National Association of Broadcasters Show 2013.

The National Association of Broadcasters Show is a perfect opportunity for digital imaging companies to introduce new products. Canon took this literally and it announced three new camcorders, called XA25 HD, XA20 HD, and Vixia HF G30.

The first two devices are aimed at professional cinematographers, while the last one is suited for amateur and enthusiast film-makers.

Canon G30 announced for enthusiast cinematographers

The new Canon G30 camcorder features a 20x zoom lens, brand new HD CMOS Pro image sensor, and wireless support. According to the manufacturer, the shooter can also capture MP4 videos and it will allow amateurs to further their careers by experiencing with new and advanced features.

This camcorder features a 20x wide-angle lens, which provides a 35mm equivalent between 26.8 and 536mm and a maximum aperture of f/1.8. The lens comes packed with the so-called Hi Index Ultra Low Dispersion (Hi-UD) technique, which can be found in the company’s higher-end series.

Canon’s new device is powered by a DIGIC DV 4 processor with SuperRange Optical Image stabilization technology and a pair of SD memory cards. Additionally, a 3.5-inch OLED touchscreen allows cinematographers to review their MP4 videos.

The Canon Vixia HF G30 release date is June 2013 and its price is $1,699.99.

 Canon XA25 and XA20 HD camcorders really mean business

On the other hand, the Canon XA25 and XA20 camcorders are aimed at professionals. Both of them feature a 3.5-inch OLED touchscreen, built-in WiFi, 20x zoom lens, and MP4 recording.

The new devices come with “real-time” OIS technology, DIGIC 4 image processor, and a 2.91-megapixel HD CMOS sensor.

According to Canon, the camcorders can capture and store full HD videos at 60 frames per second on both SD memory cards.  The WiFi connectivity can be used for sharing videos on tablets and smartphones, and for controlling the cameras using Android and iOS mobile devices.

Controlling the cameras is easy, as cinematographers will get help from an Electro Magnetic Diaphragm. This technology and an 8-blade aperture will make sure that out-of-focus areas get a natural look.

Both camcorders offer a 35mm equivalent focal length between 26.8 and 576mm. The official press release says that the minimum focusing distance stands at 60 centimeters.

Canon says that many other functions are available in its new camcorders, that will allow users to shoot better videos. Another important feature is the handgrip, which provides easy access to a joystick and camera settings.

The Canon XA25 and XA20 HD camcorders release date is late June 2013. They will become available for a price of $3,199 and $2,699, respectively.
